The Carabao Cup quarter-finals take place this week with teams competing for a place in the last four.

The eight remaining sides in the competition are all vying to have a new name on the trophy after Newcastle dumped out reigning champions Manchester United.

The Magpies, beaten finalists last year, have already eliminated treble winners Manchester City during their bid to return to Wembley.

However, Eddie Howe's side now have Chelsea blocking their path to the last four after the Blues eased past Championship side Blackburn.

West Ham's reward for their victory over Arsenal is a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool side who edged out Bournemouth 2-1.

There is also guaranteed to be a team from the English Football League in the semi-finals with League One Port Vale hosting Championship Middlesbrough in the last eight.

Carabao Cup semi-final draw: Date and how to follow

The Carabao Cup semi-final draw is expected to take place following Liverpool vs West Ham on Wednesday, December 20.

It is likely to be broadcast live on Sky Sports after the action at Anfield.
