There has been wholesale changes on and off the pitch during Erik ten Hag's time in charge of Manchester United, but this is nothing that hasn't been seen before.
Ten Hag has been in the job just over six months but the Red Devils squad looks a whole lot different to what it did under Ralf Rangnick and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season. A number of players, such as Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, left the club at the end of their contracts in June, while others were not part of the Dutchman's plans.
While some players have racked up many appearances during United's time as a Premier League club, others have managed just a single appearance in the competition. So, with that in mind, Mirror Football takes a closer look at those one-game wonders.
Neil Webb
Having played for United for seven years before the start of the Premier League, Webb made just one appearance in the newly-founded division before leaving the club. Webb later re-joined Nottingham Forest and had stints at Grimsby Town and Aldershot Town before hanging up his boots in 2000. He dipped into management but last coached Reading Town 21 years ago.
Lee Martin
Similarly to Webb, Martin was at the Red Devils for some time before the Premier League begun, but he was unfortunate enough to play just one game in that division for the club. Martin also played for Celtic and Bristol Rovers amongst others before hanging up his boots at the age of 40 in 2008.
Colin McKee
The former winger came through the ranks at United before making his first-team bow in 1989. McKee also played for the Red Devils more than once in the First Division, but featured on one occasion in the Premier League, before departing to join Kilmarnock. The 49-year-old retired in 2001, having featured regularly in the Scottish Premiership.
Erik Nevland
Nevland was tipped for huge things when he made the switch to United from Viking as a teenager in 1997. However, it is safe to say Nevland's career at Old Trafford never got going and he left after just one Premier League appearance, before donning the likes of Fulham and Groningen.
Phil Mulryne
Now a Dominican friar and priest in the Catholic Church, Mulryne was once a professional footballer but retired in 2008, having made just one Premier League appearance for United. The 44-year-old regularly featured for Norwich City, however, and made 161 appearances at the Canaries before leaving the club.
Nick Culkin
Culkin was another product of the United academy but failed to have the desired impact on the senior side, having often played second or third fiddle to Peter Schmeichel. He left the Red Devils after just one Premier League appearance and a series of loan spells, before enjoying a successful career in non-league with FC United of Manchester and Radcliffe.
David Healy
A highly-rated forward, Healy was backed to have a lengthy career at Old Trafford but it wasn't until he joined Preston North End when he began to fulfil his potential. Healy scored 44 goals in 137 matches at the Lilywhites, before plying his trade at Norwich City, Leeds United, Fulham and Sunderland - as he finished off his career at Bury in League One.
Paul Rachubka
The journeyman goalkeeper must have seen it all in the game, having appeared for no less than 19 clubs in his career across his 18-year senior career. Rachubka made his Premier League debut for United in 2000 against Leicester City, but departed the club to join Charlton Athletic in 2002. He ended his career at Kerala Blasters in 2018.
Bojan Djordjic
The Swede made just two competitive appearances for United, and only one of them came in the league as Sir Alex Ferguson often preferred other options on the wing. He later went on to have a lengthy career in the game despite being hampered by injuries, winning the Scottish Premier League with Rangers in the process.
Danny Pugh
A tough-tackling midfielder, Pugh featured just once for United in the top-flight, before reaching further heights at Leeds and Stoke City, where he made a name for himself. Pugh retired from football in the summer, having played one final season at ninth-tier Hanley Town, while he has also dipped into coaching with Port Vale.
Lee Roche
Roche started his career as a trainee at United but made only one substitute appearance in the league against Newcastle. He also started a League Cup game against Arsenal and a Champions League tie against Deportivo la Coruna, before leaving to enjoy his career elsewhere with the likes of Wrexham and Burnley.
Ricardo Lopez Felipe
Ricardo began his professional career at Atletico Madrid, before working his way through and earning himself a move to United in 2002. However, he found first-team opportunities rare, appearing in four Champions League matches and just once in the Premier League. Ricardo retired while playing for Osasuna and has since gone into management with Ejea.
Kieran Lee
Now at Bolton, Lee is recognised as a Sheffield Wednesday hero for the service he gave them during an eight-year spell between 2012 and 2020, but it all started for Lee at United. However, he made just one league appearance in 2004 before leaving and he has since had a good career in the lower leagues. The 34-year-old started for Bolton in their 0-0 draw against Derby County on Tuesday.
Fangzou Dong
The Chinese striker became the first East Asian player to sign for United in 2004 but he struggled for first-team opportunities despite impressing out on loan at Royal Antwerp. However, his time at the Red Devils was hampered by legal issues and work permit problems, meaning Dong played just once in the Premier League.
Manucho
Manucho had a topsy-turvy career in the game and it all started back in 1999 at Benfica, before moving to United in 2008 where he made one Premier League appearance against Stoke City. The striker was a fully fledged Angola international and retired after playing for Cornella in Spain.
Lee Martin
Now at Dover Athletic, Martin's career has dwindled since being handed a rare Premier League debut by Ferguson during the 2008/09 after a series of loans. Martin has scored 40 times 476 appearances and now finds himself in the National League South, having previously played for Ebbsfleet United.
Ben Amos
Another goalkeeper, Amos found himself behind Edwin van der Sar in the pecking order and never really got a look-in at Old Trafford but does have a top-flight appearance to his name. Amos is now a first-team regular at Wigan Athletic and played every game in League One last season as they won promotion.
Tom Lawrence
Lawrence progressed through the academy at United, but like many others, failed to make the breakthrough despite playing once in the Premier League. He has gone on to have a successful career elsewhere, however, with Ipswich Town, Derby and now at Rangers, where he made his Champions League debut in September.
Michael Keane
One of the most well-known players on this list, Keane is also the only current Premier League player with the defender currently plying his trade at Everton. Having also spent time at Burnley and Leicester, Keane has found his game time sparse of late with Conor Coady, Yerry Mina, James Tarkowski and Ben Godfrey ahead of him in the pecking order.
Tom Thorpe
The defender was an integral part of the United youth set up with Louis van Gaal deciding to give him his top-flight bow in 2014/15 as he replaced Angel di Maria against West Ham. Thorpe was released at the end of the season and went out to Rotherham United, before later playing for Bradford and Bolton.
Donald Love
The now-Morecambe defender has had quite the decline having made his Premier League debut against Sunderland in 2016. Love would then join the Black Cats alongside teammate Paddy McNair but struggled for game time as Sunderland were relegated. He has also donned the likes of Wigan and Shrewsbury in his career.
James Weir
After progressing through the ranks, Weir made his professional debut in February 2016 against Arsenal - the same day Marcus Rashford scored twice on his first Premier League start. However, Weir hasn't had the same level of success to Rashford and now finds himself at MTK Budapest.
Joel Pereira
In May 2017, Pereira made his first Premier League appearance for United against Crystal Palace as David de Gea was handed a rest. But after a number of loans at Hearts, Rochdale and Huddersfield, Pereira's United contract ran out in 2021 and he later joined RKC Waalwijk where he is still currently playing his football at.
Demitri Mitchell
Like Pereira, Mitchell made his first Premier League appearance in the same game against Palace, but that proved to be his final senior game for the Red Devils. Mitchell is now at Hibernian, having left Blackpool earlier this year.
Josh Harrop
There were rave reviews on Harrop after he stormed through the youth set-up at United but his career has sadly declined following his top-flight debut. Harrop scored in the 2-0 win over Palace at Old Trafford, but he would join Preston in the same summer, and now finds himself at Northampton Town in League Two.
William Fish
The latest player on just one Premier League appearance for United, Fish made his debut in a 2-1 win over Wolves on the final day of the 2020/21 season. But Fish was sent out on loan to Stockport last season and is now out at Hibernian in Scotland.
