Vlahovic 'waves' to fans, but Arsenal supporters told it may mean something else

The forward is having a remarkable season in Serie A, scoring 17 goals in 21 games, and in scoring against Genoa on Monday night, has found the back of the net in seven successive league matches.

In addition, the 21-year-old now has 12 home goals this season and only Erling Haaland in Germany's Bundesliga has scored as many on his own turf this season in Europe's top five leagues.

But the big question is will he move to the Premier League and was Vlahovic saying arrivederci to his fans.

But some think it was merely to say sorry for missing a penalty in the 6-0 rout on Monday night.

He attempted a Panenka against Genoa goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu in the 11th minute, with the score being 0-0 at the time.

Coming out of the tunnel after half-time for the second 45 minutes, Vlahovic then proceeded to puts his hands in the air in apology, rather than saying goodbye.

It didn't matter much, though, as at the second time of asking, the Serbian found the net when he produced a superb dink over Sirigu to make it 4-0.

He also put his hands up at the crowd again, further exemplifying that the gesture was possibly more of a sorry than a farewell.

Given his form, and the fact that he only has 18 months left on his contract, a number of Arsenal fans on Twitter hoped it meant he was saying bye before moving.

It appears as though he will eventually leave, but it remains to be seen whether that will be in this transfer window, or in the summer.

Fiorentina manager, Vincenzo Italiano, said after the game: "At the moment we enjoy Dusan here at Fiorentina, he's with us - I don't know about the future. He scored a great goal today. I see him very motivated, he's relaxed."

Several reports have stated that Arsenal, the front runners, have submitted a £50million offer plus Lucas Torreira, who is currently on loan with the Italians.

The offers is not expected to be enough though as the Italian side are holding out for £70m.
