Two men charged after Rashford's brother held at gunpoint in armed robbery

Two men have been charged with armed robbery by detectives after they held up the brother of England international and Manchester United star Marcus Rashford at gunpoint.

The pair of suspects were forced to face court following a lengthy three-year investigation into the incident that took place at a cafe where Dane Rashford, 29, was having breakfast with fellow sports agent Tyler Alexander-Arnold - brother of Liverpool defender Trent.

On January 12, 2019 a gang of men boasting a 12 bore shotgun, machete and baseball bat entered the Little Rock restaurant in Moss Side, Manchester demanding valuables.

In the process, they stole Rashford's watch and Alexander-Arnold's wallet alongside a number of different valuable items belonging to three other people in attendance.

They also stole the keys to Alexander-Arnold's white Range rover and used the car as their getaway vehicle to flee from the scene.

Rashford and Alexander-Arnold had met up to travel down to Brighton together to watch Liverpool take on the Seagulls at the Amex later that night, but ended up being treated in hospital for undisclosed injuries.

The three friends that were with the duo were also left bloodied but the injuries were not deemed to be serious by the authorities.

The Range rover was eventually discovered abandoned in nearby suburb Fallowfield.

Romario Harmer, 20, of Old Trafford and Talleko Lemonious, 26, of Wythenshawe faced five charges of robbery, possessing an Italian-made Fabarm double-barrelled 12 bore shotgun, unlawful possession of a baseball bat and having a machete in a public place at Manchester magistrates court.

Harmer and Lemonious did not appear in the dock alongside each other due to undisclosed reasons.

The other three victims of the robbery were identified as Tre Gill and Jacob Dunne-Simon who both had their watches stolen and Daniel Payne who was forced to hand over both his wallet and coat.

During the investigation process, six people aged between 17 and 58 were arrested for questioning.

Superintendent Mark Dexter of Greater Manchester police said at the time: "Thankfully no one was seriously injured but the victims have been left understandably shaken following this incident.

"It is thanks to the swift action of our officers that we had six men in custody but this investigation is still very much ongoing and officers will be in the area continuing with inquiries.

"We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or anyone with dashcam footage around the time of the incident."
