Shrewsbury Town have handed out banning orders totalling eight years to two fans following abusive chants aimed at Liverpool supporters earlier this month.
Video clips emerged after the FA Cup third round tie between the two sides at Anfield on January 9.
The clips appeared to show some Shrewsbury fans singing a song referencing the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, in which 97 Liverpool supporters died following the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest in Sheffield.
Shrewsbury issued a statement the day after Liverpool's 4-1 victory saying the club was "disgusted and appalled" to see and hear the reports on social media and were liaising with police to identify the offenders.
They said at the time: "Shrewsbury Town Football Club is disgusted and appalled to see and hear the reports on social media about the vile and offensive chanting and behaviour of a very small minority of our 'supporters' yesterday.
"These people do not represent our club in any way shape or form and we are liaising with West Mercia Police to try and identify those responsible who will in turn liaise with Merseyside Police.
"If any supporters have any information that might assist us in identifying those responsible, they can contact the club confidentially and we will use the information as part of our investigations with the Police authorities."
On Tuesday morning the club posted an update, confirming the bans handed down: "As part of the ongoing investigation into incidents at the Liverpool Emirates FA Cup tie, Shrewsbury Town has today banned two individuals from attending future games for a total of eight years.
"As a club we do not condone and will not tolerate any behaviour that breaches our supporter code of conduct and brings our good name into disrepute."
An investigation into the incident by the club is continuing.
Town goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne was one of many who took to social media to share his disgust following circulation of the videos on the day of the cup game.
In response to the clip, Burgoyne, who did not feature in the match at Anfield, quickly took to Twitter to call out those who took part in the chants.
He wrote: "As for these Shrewsbury fans! Should be ashamed of yourselves.
"Liverpool showed nothing but respect today. Shocking, absolutely shocking! Out them and ban them for life!"
Liverpool ran out 4-1 winners in the match at Anfield thanks to goals from Kaide Gordon, Roberto Firmino and a Fabinho brace.
Shrewsbury, who are currently 15th in League One, actually took the lead against the Reds when Daniel Udoh tapped in from close range against a Liverpool side showing plenty of changes.
But Jurgen Klopp's side roared back to book their spot in round four. They will now host Championship side Cardiff City on Sunday, February 6.
