Tuesday's international friendly predictions including Scotland vs. England

sportsmole.co.uk, 12 September 2023, 05:05
Japan vs. Turkey (Tuesday, 1.20pm)

Japan take on Turkey in an international friendly at the Cegeka Arena in Genk on Tuesday evening.

The two countries are set to square off against each other for just the second time in history, having last met in the round of 16 of the 2002 World Cup, with Turkey emerging 1-0 winners.

We say: Japan 1-0 Turkey

After topping their World Cup group, Japan have continued to defy the odds in recent times, running out 4-1 winners away against Germany in their last match.

Considering Turkey have also been in decent form, Tuesday's game could be close, but we expect the hosts to emerge as narrow winners.

South Africa vs. Congo DR (Tuesday, 4.00pm)

Fresh off the back of wrapping up their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, Congo DR go head to head with South Africa in a friendly at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.

Sebastien Desabre's men journey to Soweto on a run of five consecutive victories across all competitions and will be looking to keep the juggernaut rolling.

We say: South Africa 1-1 Congo DR

South Africa are in for another tough 90 minutes against a spirited Congo DR side who have won each of their last five matches since March. However, the Bafana Bafana are unbeaten in 12 of their last 13 matches and we see them holding out for a draw in this one.

Egypt vs. Tunisia (Tuesday, 5.00pm)

Egypt and Tunisia face off on Tuesday at the 30 June Stadium after their final games of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Pharaohs defeated Ethiopia 1-0 in Cairo on Friday, while their North African rivals secured a 3-0 win over Botswana that saw them end atop their group.

We say: Egypt 2-1 Tunisia

Both sides are closely matched, but Salah's return to the side should give Egypt the edge against Tunisia in Cairo.

Saudi Arabia vs. South Korea (Tuesday, 5.30pm)

Saudi Arabia take on South Korea in an international friendly at St. James' Park on Tuesday evening.

It is the first meeting between the two sides since October 2019, when they played out a 0-0 draw at the Baniyas Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

We say: Saudi Arabia 0-0 South Korea

Both Saudi Arabia and South Korea have not been at their best during this international break, and they have played out goalless draws in two of their last four head-to-head matches.

As such, it would not be a surprise if Tuesday's game ends as a stalemate, particularly considering South Korea lacked a cutting edge against Wales last time out.

Morocco vs. Burkina Faso (Tuesday, 7.30pm)

Two sides who have booked their spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations go head to head in a friendly as Morocco and Burkina Faso clash at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Tuesday.

The Atlas Lions head into the matchup unbeaten in each of their last four games against their West African counterparts since August 2013 and will be looking to extend this impressive run.

We say: Morocco 2-1 Burkina Faso

While Burkina Faso will be looking to return to winning ways, standing in their way is a star-studded and more experienced Morocco side. The Atlas Lions boast the firepower needed to get this one over the line and we fancy them coming away with the desired results.

Scotland vs. England (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

The 150th Anniversary of the oldest international fixture in football will be celebrated on Tuesday, with Scotland taking on England in a glamour friendly at Hampden Park in Glasgow.

These two nations first locked horns in 1872 at the West of Scotland Cricket Club ground, playing out a goalless draw, and the rivals will now face off in a celebration of that contest on Tuesday night.

We say: Scotland 2-2 England

Scotland are flying at the moment, and it is set to be a brilliant atmosphere inside the stadium on Tuesday evening. Both managers will make alterations, which should create an open and entertaining contest, and we are predicting a 2-2 draw in this international friendly.

Germany vs. France (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

Euro 2024 hosts Germany welcome France to the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund for a friendly on Tuesday.

Germany have parted company with manager Hansi Flick following an unbelievable 4-1 home defeat to Japan at the weekend.

We say: Germany 0-3 France

France are possibly the most in-form nation in Europe at the moment, and a Germany side with their confidence shattered and no manager may suffer once again.

Japan are not the first team to dominate Germany in 2023, and even France's second-string side could put the hosts to the sword on current form.

Senegal vs. Algeria (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

The last two African champions — Senegal and Algeria — face off on Tuesday in a friendly game at Stade Leopold Sedar Senghor.

Aliou Cisse's men ended their Africa Cup of Nations qualification phase atop their group, as did the Fennec Foxes, who went unbeaten.

We say: Senegal 2-2 Algeria

Both teams are in fine form, and it is hard to separate Senegal and Algeria, with a score draw possibly in the offing.

Ivory Coast vs. Mali (Tuesday, 9.00pm)

Ivory Coast, hosts of next year's Africa Cup of Nations, play host to Mali in a friendly encounter at Stade Robert Champroux on Tuesday.

The Elephants have claimed three wins from their last four, while the Eagles were one of the best sides in AFCON qualifying.

We say: Ivory Coast 1-1 Mali

Mali may not beat the Ivory Coast, but the Eagles should feel primed to avoid defeat against the Elephants on Tuesday.

Mexico vs. Uzbekistan (Wednesday, 12.30am)

Mexico take on Uzbekistan in an international friendly at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Tuesday night.

It will be the first-ever time the two nations have squared off, with the match set to take place in Atlanta.

We say: Mexico 3-0 Uzbekistan

In the end, the USA managed to record a comfortable victory over Uzbekistan, and Mexico should have no problem brushing them aside either.

Fresh off the back of winning their 12th Gold Cup, we expect the hosts to win Tuesday's game by a considerable margin.
