Tuesday's League One predictions including Barnsley vs. Ipswich Town

Lincoln vs. Burton Albion (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Burton Albion will be looking to escape the League One relegation zone when they face Lincoln City at LNER Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Brewers find themselves second from bottom in the table - eight points shy of 16th-placed Lincoln - although Mark Kennedy's men are without a league win since mid-November.

Having conceded nine goals without reply across their previous two league games, Burton look set to suffer another disappointing defeat this weekend.

Given that Lincoln are among the division's lowest scorers, we are not likely to see a flurry of goals at LNER Stadium, but the hosts should cruise to a comfortable clean-sheet victory.

Barnsley vs. Ipswich (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Two sides that are looking to secure promotion to the Championship will face off on Tuesday when Barnsley face Ipswich Town at Oakwell.

The Tykes occupy fourth position in the League One table with six points separating them from Ipswich, who are sitting in second place.

Since losing to Bolton Wanderers on January 2, Barnsley have recorded nine consecutive home victories, but we think they will have to be content with a draw when they face an Ipswich side that are unbeaten in 16 league games.

Oxford Utd vs. Cheltenham (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Relegation-threatened Oxford United welcome Cheltenham Town to the Kassam Stadium on Tuesday, looking to create a bit of daylight in the League One relegation scrap.

The rescheduled game between clubs separated by four places in the standings could see the home team bounce back from the weekend's defeat by Barnsley, while the Robins beat relegated Forest Green Rovers in their most recent league match.

We say: Oxford United 1-1 Cheltenham Town

Oxford have netted just six goals in their last eight games at the Kassam Stadium, and Cheltenham have lost seven of their 10 road matches in 2023.

Neither side can be backed for success on Tuesday night, making a stalemate likely.

Bolton vs. Accrington (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Bolton Wanderers could strengthen their playoff prospects when they welcome second-bottom Accrington Stanley in Tuesday's League One rescheduled encounter at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The Wanderers will not rise higher than fifth with a win over the struggling side, who have lost four on the trot in the third tier.

Plymouth Argyle can move to the brink of promotion to the Championship with victory over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday evening.

At a time when Plymouth sit two points clear of third place with a game in hand, Bristol Rovers are down in 15th spot and have ambitions to end the season in the top half of the League One standings.

While Plymouth have not necessarily been at their best of late, they have still managed to churn out a number of key victories. We feel that will remain the same on Tuesday, leading us to predict another win with a clean sheet being posted in the process.
