Tuesday's International Friendlies predictions including France vs. Scotland

sportsmole.co.uk, 17 October 2023, 05:05
Japan vs. Tunisia (Tuesday, 11.10am)

Japan are set to take on Tunisia at the Noevir Stadium on Tuesday evening in their latest international friendly.

It is the fifth-ever meeting between the two sides, with Tuesday's hosts coming out on top in three of the four previous encounters.

We say: Japan 4-1 Tunisia

Japan have scored a minimum of four goals in their last five matches, and they have defeated some top-quality sides, most notably Germany and Turkey.

As such, Tuesday's game is likely to be a high-scoring affair, and we expect the hosts to secure a comfortable victory.

South Korea vs. Vietnam (Tuesday, 12.00pm)

South Korea host Vietnam at the Suwon World Cup Stadium in an international friendly on Tuesday evening.

The hosts will be looking to make it three wins on the spin, as they prepare for a World Cup qualifier against China next month, while the visitors are aiming to bounce back from defeats in their last two matches.

We say: South Korea 5-0 Vietnam

There is a huge gulf in quality between the two nations, and South Korea recently dispatched of a decent Tunisia side 4-0.

As such, the hosts should have no trouble racking up a victory by a considerable margin on Tuesday night.

N. Macedonia vs. Armenia (Tuesday, 2.00pm)

North Macedonia and Armenia will both be looking to respond after their respective defeats in Euro 2024 qualifying when they meet in a friendly clash on Tuesday afternoon.

The hosts in Strumica lost against Ukraine last time out, whereas Armenia's hopes of reaching Germany next year took a massive hit in Latvia in their most recent match.

We say: North Macedonia 2-1 Armenia

North Macedonia have their work cut out to qualify for next summer's Euros after being placed in a difficult group, however the Lynxes should be good enough to win on Tuesday afternoon.

Armenia were well below average as they lost at bottom side Latvia last time out, and we can envisage the visitors struggling at Stadion Blagoj Istatov in this one.

Saudi Arabia vs. Mali (Tuesday, 4.00pm)

An interesting-looking friendly clash awaits on Tuesday evening when Saudi Arabia face off against Mali in at Estadio Municipal de Portimao in Portugal.

Saudi Arabia have been taking part in a number of friendlies since their Gulf Cup exit in January, while Mali are preparing for their upcoming World Cup qualification campaign.

We say: Saudi Arabia 1-2 Mali

Saudi Arabia ground out a respectable result against Nigeria last time out and will therefore be confident of repeating the trick or better on Tuesday.

Mali have been in sensational form of late and will be primed to record another noticeable success against Saudi Arabia in Portimao.

Estonia vs. Thailand (Tuesday, 5.00pm)

Estonia are set to take on Thailand at the A. Le Coq Arena on Tuesday evening, in their latest international friendly.

It is the second-ever meeting between the two sides, with Thailand coming out on top via a penalty shootout in the King's Cup back in 2004.

We say: Estonia 4-0 Thailand

Although Estonia have struggled in Euro 2024 qualification, they should have no trouble comfortably dispatching Thailand on Tuesday.

Considering Georgia defeated the Changsuek 8-0 on Thursday, Estonia should also be able to win by a considerable margin.

Albania vs. Bulgaria (Tuesday, 5.00pm)

Albania and Bulgaria conclude their international action for October with a friendly in Tirana on Tuesday night.

At a time when Albania sit on the brink of a rare appearance at a major tournament, Bulgaria remain in the doldrums after a dismal campaign.

We say: Albania 2-1 Bulgaria

The home side are likely to make some changes for this contest in a bid to strengthen their depth and experience. Nevertheless, given the trajectories of the two nations, we still believe that Albania will come through with a hard-fought win.

Australia vs. New Zealand (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Australia and New Zealand renew hostilities on Tuesday evening when they meet in an international friendly in Brentford.

While Australia impressed in defeat to England on Friday night, New Zealand were held to a draw by Congo DR in a showdown that took place in Spain.

We say: Australia 2-1 New Zealand

Regardless of the lineups that are selected, this should prove to be a hard-fought contest, one which will be engaging given their rivalry. For us, though, Australia are justified favourites, and Arnold's could edge this contest to secure bragging rights until their next clash.

France vs. Scotland (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

Two nations who endured contrasting nights in their most recent Euro 2024 qualifiers don their friendly caps on Tuesday, as France host Scotland at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in an exhibition contest.

Les Bleus sealed their spot at next year's Finals by defeating the Netherlands 2-1 on Friday, while Steve Clarke's men were left seething at a perceived sense of injustice in a 2-0 loss to Spain.

We say: France 2-0 Scotland

With a plethora of well-rested, youthful players aiming to make their mark for Les Bleus, France ought to consign September's Germany beating to history and end a successful October period on a high note.

Despite enjoying an extra day of recuperation, Scotland may still be reeling from the crushing blow inflicted on them by Spain and the officiating team, and the visitors' stopover in Lille is unlikely to be a memorable one.

Ivory Coast vs. South Africa (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

AFCON hosts Ivory Coast will welcome South Africa to Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan for an international friendly encounter on Tuesday evening.

With the CAF World Cup qualifiers less than a month away and the AFCON spectacle set to get underway in January, both these sides will relish the opportunity of having one final tune-up game before a busy schedule of international competition starts.

We say: Ivory Coast 1-1 South Africa

While both these sides have tremendous attacking strength in their ranks, we are also set to see two very miserly defences on display. We are expecting a free-flowing match but feel that these two will cancel each other out by the full-time whistle.

Mexico vs. Germany (Wednesday, 01.00am)

Germany will be aiming to make it three victories in a row when they take on Mexico in an international friendly in the United States on Tuesday night.

The Euro 2024 hosts will enter the contest off the back of a 3-1 victory over the USA, while Mexico, who are co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, recorded a 2-0 win over Ghana in their last match.

We say: Mexico 1-2 Germany

This will be a good test for both sides, and we are expecting Tuesday's contest to be extremely competitive. Mexico have players who can hurt Germany, and we are backing El Tri to score, but the Euro 2024 hosts should have enough quality to secure the win here.

USA vs. Ghana (Wednesday, 1.30am)

Ghana will take on the USA for the first time on American soil as the two sides square off in a friendly at GEODIS Park in Nashville on Tuesday night.

Over the weekend, the Yanks gave up three unanswered goals, losing 3-1 to Germany, while the Black Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat against Mexico.

We say: USA 1-0 Ghana

Throughout the year, Ghana have struggled to maintain a high level of consistency as their current generation is getting older and lacking an influential player with outstanding attacking qualities, something the Americans have in abundance and something we think will tip the scales in their favour come Tuesday.
