Tuchel want to add 8 'Big Brother style cameras' at Chelsea training base

Thomas Tuchel is looking to further stamp his authority at Chelsea by having eight Big Brother-style training cameras bought in at their Cobham training base.

The Blues are looking to add several pole-mounted cameras which will be able to keep tabs on the training habits of their players.

The "player analysis" technology will allow them to provide more in depth feedback for the first team, women's team and youth teams.

Tuchel has not yet been at the west London club for a year but is making demands as he targets the Premier League title.

Already the German has delivered the Champions League and is now eyeing more silverware.

Chelsea already have CCTV security at Cobham but need permission to install the latest set of cameras as the site is on green belt land.

Elmbridge Council planners are poised to make a decision later this month.

Planning agent Nancy Stuart in papers filed with the local council said: "The club is now seeking to enhance its facilities through installing cameras around several of the pitches, which will enable coaches to provide more thorough feedback.

"Technology has been playing a bigger role in coaching in a wide range of sports in recent years

"Installing cameras at Cobham will allow training sessions to be recorded from a range of angles and heights.

"It is considered that this solution is preferable to the use of drones.

"The scheme will use leading camera and software technology to route back into the office for immediate analysis."

Tuchel is known for his attention to detail and these latest tools would allow him to further that.

Mainz sporting director Christian Heidel, who worked with the Blues boss earlier in his managerial career, has previously detailed his obsessive nature.

"He thinks about football 24-7," Heidel said.

"Every training has to be perfect. He plays the game in his head beforehand. He needs everything to go according to plan, especially tactical discipline.

"Where the players are standing, where they have to go. This makes it very hard to play against teams coached by Thomas."

Tuchel's Chelsea side saw off Southampton on Saturday to go top of the Premier League.

The Blues had suffered successive defeats across two competitions but rediscovered their mojo against the Saints.

Trevoh Chalobah, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell all got on the scoresheet at Stamford Bridge.
