The opening weekend of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign is in the books - and the focus is now back on the transfer market.
Manchester United were the big losers of the opening weekend after they slumped to a shock defeat at home to Brighton. After a dismal start, the pressure will only intensify on Erik ten Hag and the Old Trafford hierarchy to bring in new recruits - although fans have been left seriously unimpressed by links to Marko Arnautovic.
United are also rivalling Chelsea in the race for striking sensation Benjamin Sesko, while Frenkie de Jong is also of interest to the duo.

Sesko hands Chelsea and Man Utd transfer blow
Manchester United and Chelsea's hopes of bagging Benjamin Sesko have been dealt a major blow after a new report claimed that the 19-year-old wants to stay at RB Salzburg.
Sesko has been linked with the Premier League duo and Paris Saint-Germain after catching the eye last term in the Austrian Bundesliga.
But according to Sky Sports Austria, Sesko is planning to snub interest from overseas to stay at Salzburg for the 2022/23 campaign in a bid to emulate Erling Haaland, who also enjoyed a prolific stint with the Austrian club before moving on.

Barcelona issue De Jong plea
Barcelona have pleaded with Frenkie de Jong to stay at the club - putting a potential switch to the Premier League in jeopardy.
The Dutch playmaker has been chased by Manchester United and Chelsea this summer and was thought to be surplus to requirements at Barcelona, who would stand to rake in a handsome sum by cashing in on the former Ajax star.
But club president Joan Laporta made it clear on Sunday night that Barcelona are desperate to keep hold of De Jong. He said: "He is a Barca player of great quality and we want him to stay. With him and his team-mates, we have a very strong midfield. He has offers but we want him to stay and he wants to stay too."

Man United chase Arnautovic deal
Manchester United left their fans massively underwhelmed by slumping to a shock 2-1 defeat against Brighton on Sunday - and news that the club had launched a bid for Marko Arnautovic did little to improve the mood at Old Trafford.
The Telegraph claim that United have seen an initial £7.2million bid for the former West Ham forward rebuffed by his current club, Bologna.
However, United are still confident that a deal can be done for the 33-year-old, who is 'extremely keen' on joining the club.
