It's just over two months until the January market opens for business and with teams reflecting on how they've started the campaign, it appears that a number of incomings and outgoings are already in the pipeline.
Players will also be taking stock of their situations at present with a lack of gametime or an upturn in form perhaps leading them to contact their agents ahead of a potential move.
What are the latest rumours and headlines? talkSPORT.com takes a look…
Declan Rice
West Ham boss David Moyes claimed clubs missed out on a £100million bargain for Rice this summer.
Manchester United had the England star on their list of defensive midfield targets but ultimately decided against strengthening in that area.
And former Red Devils boss Moyes admitted Rice is now worth even more to the Hammers ahead of the club's 1-0 win over Tottenham on Sunday.
Moyes, speaking to Sky Sports, said: "There was a bargain to be got with Declan at £100million. That bargain has now gone.
"We have a lot of really good players at this football club and I think while you're building and developing I think people might always come and look at your players.
"But it is good that they are because that is telling us that they're doing well."
Paul Pogba
The Frenchman should never play for United again following his red-card in the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool, says club legend Paul Scholes.
He told Premier League Productions: "Paul Pogba coming on to the pitch at half time to try to help the team and maybe get a little bit of respectability about it, tries to stand on the ball, tries to show how strong he is in the middle of the pitch… gives the goal away.
"You'd have to think, if Ole's still a manager there, will we see Paul Pogba again in a United shirt?
"He's caused mayhem over the last couple of years. Everybody knows what a talent he is, everybody trusts him, every manager trusts him, tried to give him his head and let him be the player he's been.
"But with all the commotion, not signing his contract, almost holding the club to ransom, and then he comes on and does something like that.
"It's not Ole's fault, don't get me wrong, but that's part of it which almost summed the United performance up today.
"Look, he probably will play [again] won't he? But I don't think they will be missing anything if he doesn't.
"He's had numerous chances, he keeps saying he lacks consistency, but that is just [a lack of] discipline and disrespect for your manager and your teammates, what he's done today."
Luis Diaz
Chelsea are considering a move for the Porto star - who has also attracted interest from Newcastle.
Transfer guru Nico Schira reports that the Blues have made an enquiry over Diaz's availability alongside the Magpies, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The Colombia international is in high demand and with a release clause reportedly set at £67.4million it means that the Portuguese side could be powerless to approaches.
Given Newcastle's newfound wealth, it's a deal that they could look to do.
Erik ten Hag
Newcastle would have to produce an 'exceptional and extraordinary' offer to tempt the Ajax boss to take over as manager, report Chronicle Live.
Ten Hag is in high demand following his impressive reign at the Eredivisie giants and snubbed interest from both Barcelona and Spurs this summer.
The 51-year-old has now been linked with the vacant role at Newcastle by Dutch media.
Conor Coady
Newcastle are alsoconsidering a move for the Wolves skipper.
Reports from The Sun claim that Conor Coady is a player in the Magpies' January wishlist as they look to bolster their defensive options ahead of the second half of the season.
A move for the England international could reportedly cost around £20million with Wolves naturally reluctant to let such an influential player leave the club.
Youri Tielemans
Brendan Rodgers has refuted claims that Youri Tielemans has rejected a new contract with Leicester City.
The Belgian midfielder is a wanted man with both Liverpool and Manchester United said to be interested in a deal for the star.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are also said to be keen with Tielemans having less than two years remaining on his contract, but Rodgers said that reports that he rejected a deal are untrue.
Rodgers said: "There's reports, but there's (been) no turning down.
"I think there's just dialogue between the club and Youri's people.
"I think the club are waiting to hear back. But that's something that's out of my control. What I can control is his mentality, his commitment to the team, and you cannot question that."
Jules Kounde
Chelsea have been warned by Sevilla that Jules Kounde won't be sold on the cheap ahead of the January transfer window.
The Spanish side are rumoured to be having financial difficulties meaning that the Blues have been linked with a cut-price move for the talented central defender.
Chelsea reportedly made a £43million offer for the player over the summer, however Sevilla are holding out for around £60million and won't be pressured into selling for less.
Antonio Conte
The former Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan boss would be 'interested' in taking over at Manchester United.
The Transfer Window Podcast claim Conte would consider a switch to Old Trafford should the Red Devils sack manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Conte- who has been out of a job since leaving Inter this summer - is said to motivated by a desire to prove that he is one of the best coaches around.
Paulo Fonseca
The former Roma boss is appointed the new Newcastle manager.
The Mirror claim Fonseca is in the driving seat after ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard pulled out of the running to replace Steve Bruce at St James' Park.
Fonseca has been heavily linked with a move to Newcastle with some suggestions the head coach is open to the prospect of moving to the North East of England.
Fonseca is a the favourite for the hot seat as the hierarchy whittles down a list of potential successors, but he is not the only one who has been considered.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Juventus are looking at making a move for Chelsea flop keeper Kepa next summer, report Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Kepa joined the Blues for a then club-record £72million transfer fee from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
He has struggled under the weight of that price tag, while Senegal star Edouard Mendy has pushed the 26-year-old down the pecking order it has also alleviated a lot of pressure.
