Spurs have already been busy in the transfer window, with six new players joining the club this summer, including Djed Spence who has recently signed from Middlesbrough.
Despite adding several players to their squad, according to Calcio Mercato, Spurs could make a move to sign Zaniolo from Roma.
Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici has flown out to Italy to discuss a potential transfer with Roma chief Tiago Pinto, as well as engaging in talks with two other Serie A clubs about possible departures for Japhet Tanganga and Bryan Gil.
However, before making an offer for Zaniolo, Spurs may have to sell Lucas Moura and Tanguy Ndombele to free up funds.
The Italy international, who has two years left to run on his Roma contract, scored eight goals and racked up nine assists in 42 appearances for Jose Mourinho's side last season.
