Ibanez has made a name for himself as an aggressive, imposing central defender in his three full seasons at Roma, remaining a regular starter under Jose Mourinho.
His tendency to pick up yellow cards - 38 in just over three years - is counterbalanced by his presence in the opposition penalty area too, as Ibanez has scored nine goals for the Giallorossi.
A report in FourFourTwo claims that Ibanez could be available for around £26m this summer, and Spurs are big admirers of the Brazilian.
The report states that a concrete move is imminent, as Spurs seek a replacement at the back for Clement Lenglet who is set to return to Barcelona after his loan deal ends.
Defence has been one of Spurs' weak points this season, as the side have conceded 57 goals in their 35 Premier League games this season.
