The pain of Lalo, Maradona's only surviving brother

Just over a year after Diego Maradona passed away, his brother Raul 'Lalo' Maradona was then informed that his younger brother Hugo had died from a heart attack aged 52.

From all eight brothers and sisters, Raul is the only male sibling alive and the one who was affected the most by the news of Hugo's death. Lalo was shocked and his inner circle hardly dared to talk to him.

MARCA spoke to Lalo recently in Saudi Arabia, when he was present at the Maradona Cup duel between Boca Juniors and Barcelona.

Currently the director of the training project 'Aprendiendo Maradona', Lalo featured for Granada in 1987/88 just after a short-lived stint at Boca.

In fact, the three Maradona brothers played together in a friendly between Granada and Malmo on November 15, 1987, at the Estadio Los Carmenes.
