Ten River Plate players test positive for COVID-19 ahead of Boca Juniors clash

The Superclasico is scheduled for Sunday

As many as 10 River Plate players tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and will miss out on the derby against Boca Juniors on Sunday.

Nicolas De La Cruz, Bruno Zuculini, Enrique Bologna, Rafael Santos Borre, Federico Girotti, Paulo Diaz, Robert Rojas, Gonzalo Montiel, Santiago Simon and Franco Petroli have all returned positive results.

Half of those players were expected to start in the Superclasico, while the goalkeepers' coach Alberto Montes had also tested positive.

"Due to the fact that some players presented symptoms compatible with COVID-19, the medical department decided to carry out new tests this Saturday, May 15," read River Plate's statement.
