Erik ten Hag is set to begin his work to revive Manchester United this week, following the end of the Eredivisie season.
Ajax rounded off the season with a 2-2 draw against Vitesse, and Ten Hag stated at full time that he has a big job on his hands at Old Trafford this summer.
"There's a lot of work to be done there [at United]. Of course," Ten Hag said.
"There's a lot of work at every club. A manager's job is especially focused on the preparations for next season. And there's a lot of work to be done in that regard.
"Regarding the staff, there are several things that need to be organised.
"And also regarding the team and over the next several days, or actually as of tomorrow [Monday], we will be focusing on that intensively."
Cristiano Ronaldo's future
The Dutch coach went on to drop a major hint that he will look to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club this summer.
"At United, there are a lot of good players," Ten Hag stated.
"We have to make them function as a team, but definitely [Cristiano] Ronaldo - he is a giant."
His comments come after Ronaldo expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing under Ten Hag next season.
"What I know about [Ten Hag] is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he's an experienced coach, but we need to give him time," Ronaldo explained.
"Things need to change the way he wants.
"I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester United is going to have success as well. I wish him the best.
"We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well.
"I wish him the best and let's believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies."
