Vitesse played away at rivals N.E.C. Nijmegen in the Gelderse derby and took a 1-0 win courtesy of a 13th minute goal from Danish striker Nikolai Baden Frederiksen.
Fans were delighted with the victory and Vitesse's players ran over to the away end to celebrate with them at full time.
Supporters and players were jumping up and down in unison when all of a sudden the lower tier at the Goffertstadion disturbingly gave way.
It then surprisingly only took a brief pause before celebrations to continue, while it quickly became clear that luckily no one was injured.
However, things could have been far worse, with subsequent pictures showing a shipping container stopped the stand from fully collapsing and causing far more harm to fans in the away section.
N.E.C's general manager Wilco van Schaik commented on the scenes saying: "It's a miracle no one got hurt."
The Eredivisie is once again being led by Erik ten Hag's Ajax, thanks in part to former West Ham record signing Sebastien Haller who has six goals in nine games, as well as five goals in two in the Champions League.
