Burgstaller took his tally for the season to six goals in eight Bundesliga 2 games last time out as Pauli won 3-1 at Karlsruhe to climb to second in the standings. The former Nuremberg and Schalke striker was also on target against Ingolstadt two weeks ago, and has only failed to find the back of the net in three league matches so far this term. Pauli can also count on one of the division's most creative players. Daniel-Kofi Kyerah, who set up Burgstaller on Matchday 8, has produced a league-leading five assists. Head coach Timo Schultz isn't expected to make many changes as Die Kiezkicker chase a win that could, depending on results elsewhere, take them top.
Dresden are themselves right in the promotion hunt, despite some hot-and-old performances. Alexander Schmidt's team took 10 points from the first 12 on offer, before losing three on the spin. Christoph Daferner inspired a return to winning ways last Sunday, though, scoring his fourth and fifth league goals of the campaign in a commanding 3-0 triumph at home to Werder Bremen. Dynamo have nevertheless struggled to reach such heights on the road, where they've only won one of four in 2021/22. Captain Sebastian Mai is set to return at the heart of the defence, with former Hertha and Union Berlin midfielder Julius Kade also expected to slot straight back in following suspension.
Match stats
Burgstaller has scored 49 goals in 93 Bundesliga 2 appearances.
The Austrian, along with Kyerah, has had a direct hand in six goals so far this season.
Pauli are bidding to return to the Bundesliga for the first time since 2010/11, when they suffered an immediate return to the second tier.
All five of Daferner's goals this season have fallen on home soil.
Dresden left-back Chris Löwe has played in Germany's top three divisions, as well as England's top two.
Dynamo are unbeaten in their last four meetings with Pauli, but have never won at the Millerntor-Stadion (D4, L3).

Matchday 9 round-up
Werder Bremen 3-0 Heidenheim
Goals: 1-0 Friedl (50'), 2-0 Ducksch (52'), 3-0 Thomalla (OG 64')
Bremen bounced back from two straight defeats with an ultimately comfortable victory at home to Heidenheim. After a goalless first half without many chances, everything seemed to come out in a mad 15 minutes after the break. Marco Friedl got things going when he put away a Marvin Ducksch free-kick before the latter capitalised on a poor clearance to double the advantage two minutes later. Tim Kleindienst had a headed goal ruled out for offside before Ducksch's attempted cross for Eren Dinkci came off the legs of Denis Thomalla for an own goal and Werder's fourth win of the season, moving to within a point of Heidenheim.
Erzgebirge Aue 1-1 Hamburg
Goals: 1-0 Jonjic (23'), 1-1 Carlson (OG 90'+4)
Red card: Messeguem (69')
Hamburg snatched a late equaliser to leave Aue as the only club in Bundesliga 2 still without a win this season. In their second game under interim coach Marc Hensel, the hosts took the lead midway through the first half when Jonas David's attempted headed clearance bounced off Antonio Jonjic and in. HSV would go on to dominate in search of an equaliser but found chances at a premium. Aue were reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes to go when Soufiane Messeguem was shown a straight red for a challenge on Sonny Kittel. The visitors would go on to snatch a point in the fifth minute of injury time. After substitute Tommy Doyle hit the bar, Dirk Carlson attempted to clear the danger but inadvertently headed the ball into his own net.
Holstein Kiel 0-2 Hansa Rostock
Goals: 0-1 Verhoek (32'), 0-2 Verhoek (35')
Promoted Rostock leapfrogged fellow northerners Kiel thanks to John Verhoek's two goals in the space of three minutes. Dirk Bremser was overseeing the home side following Ole Werner's resignation, before Marcel Rapp takes over in the international break. Kiel dominated proceedings but fell behind when Verhoek reacted quickest at a corner to force the ball over the line. The Dutchman then got his second only minutes later when he bullied the Holstein defence to double the lead. Kiel struck the woodwork in the second half but were unable to break down the Hansa defence as they slipped below their opponents.
Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-3 Paderborn
Goals: 0-1 Michel (9'), 1-1 Hennings (34'), 2-1 Hennings (58'), 2-2 Michel (61'), 2-3 Platte (83')
Paderborn moved up to second with a late victory in a pulsating encounter with Düsseldorf. Sven Michel gave the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes when one-on-one with goalkeeper Raphael Wolf. Chances came and went for both sides before Rouwen Hennings headed in an equaliser after the half-hour mark. The Fortuna veteran then put his side ahead from the penalty spot after Khaled Narey was fouled by Jesper van der Werff. But Düsseldorf's wait for a first home win of the season goes on after Michel got his brace as well by slotting through Wolf's legs after a flick-on only moments later. There was a total of 44 shots in the game, and one more was made to count when Michel's cross picked out Felix Platte in the middle to head in the afternoon's fifth goal.
Jahn Regensburg 2-2 Karlsruhe
Goals: 0-1 Wanitzek (14'), 0-2 Thiede (51'), 1-2 Albers (56'), 2-2 Gimber (58')
Bundesliga 2 leaders Regensburg came from two goals down to defend top spot in the table against Karlsruhe. The visitors were the better side for long periods, but Jahn thought they'd taken the lead when Sarpreet Singh played in Jan-Niklas Beste to round the goalkeeper, but the scorer was offside. Karlsruhe went one better at the other end when Marvin Wanitzek bent one into the corner from 18 yards. A mad seven second-half minutes then produced a rollercoaster of emotions. The advantage was originally doubled by Marco Thiede before Andreas Albers immediately brought the difference back to one when he tucked away a penalty after handball. Benedikt Gimber then levelled things up two minutes later when he headed in a free-kick to keep the Bavarians top of the table.
Nuremberg 0-0 Hannover
Sent off: Dovedan (79')
Draw specialists Nuremberg shared the spoils for the sixth time in nine games this season after being held to a goalless stalemate by Hannover. Still, they remain unbeaten this term and were the better side for most of the second half, with Tom Krauß seeing a goal disallowed for offside. Home striker Nikola Dovedan was sent off in the 79th minute, but the visitors were unable to muster the necessary momentum to capitalise on their numerical advantage.
