The injury occurred in the fifth minute of injury-time when Rudiger dramatically headed the reigning Champions League holders level, denying the Ukrainian side a famous victory.

Rudiger suffered the cut after colliding with goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin, leaving him covered in blood and his famous Los Blancos shirt a new shade of red.
In what initially looked like a worrying moment for the German international, fears were quickly allayed when he posted a selfie on Instagram from the flight home to Spain, featuring his heavily bandaged head, with the caption: "We alive."

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger," he then wrote on Twitter. "I am okay - thanks for all your messages."
But now the La Liga champions have released footage of the aftermath of the injury, with Rudiger being stitched up on the treatment table.
And it's fair to say some of his teammates found the process all a little bit squeamish.
First in to check on Rudiger was David Alaba, who watched on as medics attended to the former Chelsea man. The Austrian international stood firm, cradled Rudiger's head in his hand and even gave his teammate a kiss on the forehead.

The same couldn't be said of compatriot Toni Kroos who was next in to check on Rudiger's welfare. The German midfielder let his feelings be known when he turned away from his teammate with an uncomfortable look on his face.
Luka Modric wasn't so subtle with his thoughts, either, as the former Ballon d'Or winner put his hand to his mouth as he watched the stitch-up job in real time.
Medics can he heard telling Rudiger to take his time after the treatment had concluded and, like a true warrior, he rose to his feet and returned to the changing room with his teammates.
Rudiger reportedly required 20 stitches to the wound but it is not yet known when he will be able to return to competitive action.

Real Madrid have not yet ruled the German out of this Sunday's clash with Barcelona in the first 'El Clasico' of the season and will almost certainly be required to wear a face mask if passed fit for the clash.
