That's according to talkSPORT's transfer guru Alex Crook, who joined White and Jordan to offer an update on Spurs' transfer plans this summer.
Spurs are keen to bolster their defensive options before the start of the new Premier League season, with reports linking the north London club with a move for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde.
Reports have claimed Spurs could land the France international for around £25million plus Davinson Sanchez in a player-plus-cash deal.
However, talkSPORT has been told Nuno has now set his sights on his former Wolves defender Willy Boly as an alternative, with Kounde apparently not keen on a move to Spurs.
Ivory Coast defender Boly was a key player for Wolves during Nuno's reign in charge of the club, but only made 23 appearances last season as he struggled with injury.
He is highly regarded by the new Tottenham manager, though, and there is interest to bring the 30-year-old to White Hart Lane in an affordable deal.
Spurs are also keen to add more creative options to their team, with Nuno said to be also keen on bringing Wolves No.10 Daniel Podence to north London - and Wolves are apparently willing to sell after a less than convincing start to life in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old - a £17m signing from Olympiakos in January 2020 - also struggled with injury last season, missing over 100 days of action due groin, thigh and shoulder problems. He has managed just four goals and five assists in 38 games since joining the club.
However, he's another player valued by former Wanderers boss Nuno, as Crook explained on talkSPORT.
"There are interesting developments at Tottenham, where Nuno Espirito Santo is trying to make his own stamp on the side.
"You've got the questions remaining over Harry Kane and his future and we've seen Danny Ings linked, although Southampton are not willing to entertain a deal with Spurs for him.
"One player they have been heavily linked with, and have certainly been in negotiations for, is Jules Kounde, the Sevilla defender and France international.
"Word coming out from Spain this morning though that despite the fact there is a willingness from Sevilla to do a deal with Tottenham, maybe involving Davinson Sanchez going in the opposite direction.
"But Kounde is not keen on that move, he wants to play in the Champions League and of course Spurs won't be in it this season.
"That could lead Nuno back to his old club Wolves and Willy Boly, according to my contacts in Portugal, is possibly a player Nuno would like to take from Moleneux.
"So too Daniel Podence.
"He's a frustrating player in many ways because there's clearly some talent there, but he still hasn't really got to grips with the physicality of the Premier League, although he's clearly a player Nuno has great faith in.
"So there could be some sort of double raid on Wolves from Nuno Espirito Santo."
Crook also brought us an update on Ben White's possible move to Arsenal this summer, with the Gunners still locked in negotiations with Brighton over a deal for the England defender.
"Arsenal are still very keen on Ben White still very confident they can get that deal done, and I know on a personal level Ben White is open to a move to north London.
"Everton were another club in for him but he wasn't keen to link up with Rafa Benitez.
"My understanding is he would like to join Arsenal if the two clubs can do a deal.
"They've been negotiating for several weeks now, Brighton want in excess of £50million plus various odd-ons, and my understanding is that talks between the two clubs do continue.
"I think that's a deal that could well happen, but there's still a fair way to go."
