Speaking in 2017, the striker revealed it was his dream to play for Leeds - his father Alf-Inge's former club and the place of his birth.
"I want to be the best possible," said Haaland. "The dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds.
"In addition, the goal is to become a better player than Dad was. I hope to be able to get more international matches than he did."
Haaland has made 15 senior appearances for Norway to date, scoring 12 goals.
Go Donny go!
As per Tuesday's transfer round-up, Newcastle are reportedly the favourites to sign struggling United midfielder Van de Beek.
But it appears Everton aren't out of the running yet. According to ESPN, the Toffees will renew their interested in the Dutchman, 24, in January.
Van de Beek has struggled since joining United from Ajax 13 months ago, making just four Premier League starts.
Speaking in October, Everton's technical director Marcel Brands revealed the club were interested in signing the midfielder during the summer.
"We had him on our list," said Brands. "At the beginning of the transfer window, we enquired at United, then it was impossible.
"At the end of the window, I received a call from Guido Albers, his agent, that he might be rented out after all. But at the last minute it was cancelled."
Van de Beek is believed to have changed his agent since that failed move in a bid to escape his Old Trafford nightmare.
And, according to Birmingham Live, Wolves are also keen on snapping up the player in January.
Dean's keen
Newcastle will make an enquiry for United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, according to Eurosport.
It's believed the Red Devils are willing to let the England stopper leave the club on an 18-month loan in January.
Newcastle currently have three senior goalkeepers on their books - Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman.
None of them, however, are as highly regarded as Henderson, who displaced David de Gea as United's first-choice stopper last term.

The one-cap international also impressed during his two-year loan spell at Sheffield United, helping them win Promotion to the Premier League in 2018-19.
De Gea's re-emergence and Henderson's injury problems has seen the latter fall back down the pecking order at Old Trafford, making just one appearance this season.
"It wouldn't be clever for me to sit around and not play football," said Henderson in September 2020, "I don't think it would help any parties at all."
