That 4-2 loss against Leicester was not only another bad result - a fourth loss in seven games - but also another poor performance.
Their display at the King Power Stadium - despite boasting the likes of big-name stars Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba in the team - led to damning analysis from numerous pundits, including Jamie Carragher.
The Liverpool legend claimed Solskajer is 'not at the same level' as the other top manager in the Premier League.
United legend Gary Neville was even critical of his former teammate and said his side are 'like babies'.
The United boss has now responded to the latest barrage of criticism sent his way, and hinted that Carragher's comments were said with Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford on Sunday in mind.
"No it doesn't affect me," he said ahead of United's Champions League match against Atalanta on Wednesday.
"Of course you see comments once in a while, I didn't know what he was saying now.
"Of course we have got Liverpool on Sunday as well, so Jamie is always looking at these little things.
"I have got my values, I have got my way of managing.
"I believe in myself and as long as the club believes in me, I am pretty sure Jamie Carragher's opinion is not going to change that."
Carragher certainly isn't the only one criticising Solskjaer after United's recent run of results, with ex-Premier League stars Danny Murphy and Jamie O'Hara among the pundits on talkSPORT who took aim at the Norwegian and his below-par side.
O'Hara was particularly scathing in his assessment of United's troubles, as he told the talkSPORT Breakfast: "I've been saying this for weeks, months - Manchester United are a shambles keeping hold of the manager.
"They've got a world-class squad of players with a basic manager who wouldn't even get another job in the Premier League. I can't believe they're not being ruthless enough to say, 'Right, now's the time to do it'."
He added: "They have got a world-class group of players but a bang-average manager who's out of his depth.
"I don't know why they're clinging on to something that's never going to work and never going to last."
