The report claims Xavi and Barcelona board members continued to speak to Ambrabat on Tuesday, which has angered the Italian club.
Although Amrabat failed to complete a move in January, he is expected to attract interest from Barcelona and a number of clubs in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old gained recognition for his performances at the 2022 World Cup, where he helped Morocco finish in fourth position.
Amrabat played every minute of Morocco's campaign in Qatar, and his performances at the tournament have caught the attention of several top sides across Europe.
As well as being a transfer target for Barcelona, Amrabat has also been linked with Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
Amrabat is currently under contract until June 2024, but Fiorentina have the option of extending that deal by an additional year.
Since joining the club in 2020, Amrabat has made 83 appearances for Fiorentina, with one goal to his name.
