Shelvey out of Forest squad for Brighton clash after being banished from training

Nottingham Forest midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been left out of their squad for the Premier League clash against Brighton.

The midfielder signed for Forest in the January transfer window from Newcastle and has made eight appearances for them since.

However, the Sun report that he was sent home by boss Steve Cooper for angrily reacting to being on the bench against Liverpool.

Shelvey was then banished from first team training, and has now been omitted from their squad entirely.

Forest sit 19th in the Premier League and are two points adrift of safety.

They face a Brighton side who are chasing European qualification, with the Seagulls currently in 8th.

Forest nearly got off to the perfect start when they were awarded a penalty inside the opening ten minutes.

However, Brennan Johnson's spot-kick was saved by Jason Steele in the Brighton goal.
