Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni dismissed concerns about the future of the team, as Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria did not confirm whether they would continue with the two-time World Champions after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
"Why think about the future if they (Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria) are living a spectacular present. Why not enjoy them now? It is useless to think about what will happen after the World Cup."
Scaloni addressed the media ahead of the last match of the South American World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador next Tuesday.
Messi said after 3-0 win over Venezuela that "I can only think about what's coming next, I only think about facing Ecuador. After the World Cup, I will have to rethink many things".
Angel Di Maria has confirmed he will retire from international football after this year's World Cup in Qatar.
"What I have always said is that football is so difficult and so unpredictable that Italy has been left out (of the World Cup) undeservedly. Because I think Italy is one of the best teams in the world. They are the European champions. This shows how difficult it is."
