Saturday's Scottish Premiership predictions including Rangers vs. Dundee United

Hibernian vs. Motherwell (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Four places separate Hibernian and Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership table heading into Saturday's meeting at Easter Road.

Hibs were beaten 3-1 by champions-elect Celtic before the international break, while the Well lost their first league game in five when they fell 4-2 against Rangers.

We say: Hibernian 2-1 Motherwell

Motherwell's away record is one of the best in the Premiership, but they have won only once on their travels since the turn of the year, thus giving Hibs a slight chance of returning to winning ways on home turf.

Kilmarnock vs. Hearts (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Struggling Kilmarnock play host to Hearts at Rugby Park when the Scottish Premiership returns on Saturday.

The East Ayrshire side held St Johnstone to a 1-1 draw before the international break, but HMFC were beaten 3-0 at in-form Aberdeen.

We say: Kilmarnock 2-2 Hearts

Kilmarnock have a decent record at Rugby Park, even if wins have been a rarity, losing just one of their home games in 2023 — a 3-2 defeat by second-place Rangers.

Hearts have lost their last three on the road but have fared well against Saturday's opponents, and it could be another goal-fest this weekend.

Rangers vs. Dundee Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides at opposite ends of the Scottish Premiership table face off on Saturday as title-chasing Rangers host relegation-threatened Dundee United at Ibrox.

The Gers occupy second place after securing nine straight victories, while Dundee United find themselves rock bottom of the standings following a run of 10 games without a win.

We say: Rangers 4-0 Dundee United

Given the 51-point gulf between Rangers and Dundee United, we expect Michael Beale's men to make light work of the Tangerines in front of a passionate Ibrox crowd.

The Gers have scored 72 goals across 29 league outings this season, while Dundee United have conceded 54, so another high-scoring victory is on the cards for the hosts.

St Johnstone vs. Aberdeen (Saturday, 3.00pm)

St Johnstone welcome in-form Aberdeen to McDiarmid Park in round 30's Scottish Premiership encounter to be played on Saturday.

The Saints drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock before the international break, while the Reds defeated competitive rivals Hearts 3-0.

We say: St Johnstone 1-2 Aberdeen

The international break was ill-timed for the in-form Aberdeen owing to their momentum preceding the hiatus, but that should not prevent another victory for the Reds against a side they have twice had joy against this season.

St Mirren vs. Livingston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

One spot separates St Mirren and Livingston in the Scottish Premiership table heading into Saturday's round 30 meeting at St Mirren Park.

Saints were leapfrogged by this weekend's opponents after a 1-1 draw with Dundee United, while the Lions moved into sixth place with a 2-1 triumph against Ross County before the international break.

We say: St Mirren 2-1 Livingston

Both games between the sides this season have produced goals, and St Mirren should nick a narrow win over a side that have lost four of the last six on the road.
