Saturday's Primeira Liga predictions including Vitoria de Guimaraes vs. Benfica

Moreirense vs. Arouca (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Fresh off the back of a humbling 5-0 defeat at the hands of title-chasing Porto, Moreirense welcome Arouca to the Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, claimed a hard-earned point against Vitoria de Guimaraes last time out and will look to build on the positives from that performance.

Moreirense and Arouca have struggled defensively and will have to turn a corner sooner rather than later to end their dry spell and get their season up and running. Considering they head into the game in similar form and are evenly matched on paper, we anticipate the spoils will be shared in what should be an entertaining contest.

Guimaraes vs. Benfica (Saturday, 6.00pm)

Vitoria de Guimaraes will be looking to carry on the momentum from their midweek Taca de Portugal win when they welcome Benfica to the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques on Saturday.

The visitors head into the game as the only side yet to drop points in the Primeira Liga this season and will be seeking to keep the juggernaut rolling.

We say: Vitoria de Guimaraes 0-2 Benfica

While Vitoria will be looking to move into the top half of the table, they face the uphill task of going against Benfica, who they have failed to taste victory against since 2013. Given the gulf in quality between the two sides, we predict Jorge Jesus's side will comfortably claim all three points.

Tondela vs. Famalicao (Saturday, 8.30pm)

Two sides who have struggled to get going in the new season go head to head on Saturday as Tondela welcome Famalicao to the Estadio Joao Cardoso.

With just two points separating the sides currently in the lower echelons of the table, the game has all the makings of a thrilling contest as they will both be seeking to get their campaign up and running by claiming all three points.

Both Tondela and Famalicao find themselves at the wrong end of the table after an underwhelming start to the season which has seen them both pick up three points from six games. Famalicao head into the game off the back of an impressive win in the cup and we predict they will carry on the momentum from that performance and narrowly steal a win here.
