Saturday's La Liga predictions including Atletico Madrid vs. Valencia

Almeria vs. Cadiz (Saturday, 1.00pm)

Two teams battling to remain in La Liga will lock horns on Saturday afternoon, with 19th-placed Almeria welcoming 16th-placed Cadiz to Power Horse Stadium.

Almeria will enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Sevilla, while Cadiz drew 2-2 with fellow strugglers Getafe in their last match in Spain's top flight.

We say: Almeria 1-1 Cadiz

Almeria have been impressive in front of their own fans this season, while Cadiz have suffered defeats in seven of their 12 league games on their travels. Cadiz are not losing many games at the moment, though, and we are backing the visitors to secure a share of the spoils on Saturday afternoon.

Rayo Vallecano vs. Girona (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Rayo Vallecano will be looking to triumph in La Liga for the first time since the start of February when they welcome Girona to Estadio de Vallecas on Saturday afternoon.

The home side will enter the contest off the back of a 3-0 defeat at Celta Vigo, while Girona suffered a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in their last game in Spain's top flight.

We say: Rayo Vallecano 1-0 Girona

Rayo are certainly due a victory, having gone five matches without a success in Spain's top flight, and we are backing that success to arrive this weekend. Girona have lost seven of their 12 away league games this term and that could become eight defeats from 13 on Saturday afternoon.

Espanyol vs. Celta Vigo (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Celta Vigo will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in La Liga to five matches when they travel to RCDE Stadium on Saturday evening for a clash with Espanyol.

The visitors will enter the contest off the back of a 3-0 success over Rayo Vallecano, while Espanyol were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid at Bernabeu in their last fixture in Spain's top flight.

We say: Espanyol 2-2 Celta Vigo

Incredibly, six of the last eight La Liga meetings between these two sides have finished level, and we are finding it difficult to separate them once again here. Espanyol have drawn a third of their home league games this season, and we are expecting the points to be shared once again on Saturday.

Atletico vs. Valencia (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Atletico Madrid will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in La Liga to 10 matches when they welcome relegation-threatened Valencia to Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday night.

Diego Simeone's side are currently third in the table, six points ahead of fifth-placed Real Betis, while Valencia occupy 17th, level on points with 18th-placed Getafe in the battle to stay in the league.

We say: Atletico Madrid 2-1 Valencia

Valencia have shown recent improvement in the league, but they have been so disappointing on their travels, and Atletico are currently in excellent form. We are finding it difficult to predict anything other than a home success on Saturday evening, but it should be a close game in terms of the scoreline.
