Saturday's La Liga predictions including Atletico Madrid vs. Getafe

Espanyol vs. Osasuna (Saturday, 1.00pm)

Both Espanyol and Osasuna will be bidding to return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon when they continue their respective La Liga campaigns with a clash at RCDE Stadium.

The home side will enter the match off the back of a 3-1 defeat to Almeria, while Osasuna suffered a 1-0 home loss to Atletico Madrid in their last game in Spain's top flight.

We say: Espanyol 1-1 Osasuna

A draw would not be the worst result for either side in this match, and we are finding it difficult to separate them here. Osasuna have only won twice on their travels this term, drawing four times, while Espanyol have already shared the points on three occasions at home, so a low-scoring draw could be on the cards.

Elche vs. Villarreal (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Elche's bid to secure their first La Liga victory of the campaign will continue on Saturday afternoon when they welcome top-four hopefuls Villarreal to Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero.

The home side remain rooted to the foot of the table on six points, while Villarreal sit fifth, three points behind fourth-placed Atletico Madrid on the same number of matches (19).

We say: Elche 0-2 Villarreal

Elche will not go the whole season without winning a match, but we are finding it very difficult to back the home side to pick up a positive result here. Villarreal need to put a victory on the board to stay in touch with the top four, and we are fully expecting the visitors to secure all three points in this contest.

Atletico vs. Getafe (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Atletico Madrid will be bidding to make it three La Liga victories in a row when they welcome an out-of-form Getafe outfit to Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday evening.

Diego Simeone's side are currently fourth in the table, three points clear of fifth-placed Villarreal, while Getafe have dropped into 19th position due to their recent struggles.

We say: Atletico Madrid 2-0 Getafe

Atletico have been utterly dominant in this fixture in recent years, and it is therefore very difficult to back against a home win. Getafe's recent form has also played a major role in this prediction, and we are ultimately backing Atletico to collect all three points in comfortable fashion this weekend.

Betis vs. Celta Vigo (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Real Betis will be bidding to return to winning ways in Spain's top flight when they welcome Celta Vigo to Estadio Benito Villamarin on Saturday evening.

Manuel Pellegrini's side will enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 home defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday, while Celta recorded a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

We say: Real Betis 1-0 Celta Vigo

Celta will certainly be the fresher of the two sides entering this match, and they will fancy their chances of making it a difficult game for the hosts. Real Betis have generally been quite strong at home this term, though, picking up 17 points from nine matches, and Pellegrini's side will be desperate to bounce back from their loss to Barcelona, so we have settled on a low-scoring home success.
