Saturday's Eredivisie fixtures including Ajax vs. Cambuur

sportsmole.co.uk, 18 September 2021, 05:35
Heerenveen vs. Sittard (Saturday, 3.30pm)

Gameweek five of the Eredivisie season sees Heerenveen and Fortuna Sittard lock horns at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Saturday as the teams seek to get back to winning ways.

Both side come into the contest having picked up just one point from their last two games apiece, so a win here would be a very welcome result.

We say: Heerenveen 2-1 Fortuna Sittard

Meetings between these two teams are usually very end-to-end and entertaining with a lot of goals. We expect that trend to continue this weekend with the home just managing to narrowly edge out their visitors by the odd goal.

Willem II vs. Groningen (Saturday, 5.45pm)

Looking to end a barren run of three games without a victory, Groningen travel to Tilburg for their clash against Willem II on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the home side are looking to return to winning ways after dropping points for the first time since the opening weekend last time out.

We say: Willem II 1-1 Groningen

The home side have the upper hand coming into the game due to their recent run of results and will fancy themselves to secure all three points in this one. However, we are tipping Groningen to come away with a point in what should be an enthralling affair.

Ajax vs. Cambuur (Saturday, 7.00pm)

Eredivisie champions Ajax welcome newly-promoted Cambuur to the Johan Cruyff ArenA on Sunday looking to maintain their 100% record on home turf.

On the other hand, the visitors head into this weekend's contest in search of a third consecutive league victory and a first away from home this term.

We say: Ajax 3-0 Cambuur

The home side are in imperious form at the moment, scoring goals at will and being solid at the other end too. We fancy them to come out on top in this one in a relatively comfortable manner.

Utrecht vs. RKC Waalwijk (Saturday, 8.00pm)

FC Utrecht and RKC Waalwijk square up against each other in matchday five of the 2021-22 Eredivisie season at the Stadion Galgenwaard on Saturday.

Both teams are looking to bounce back from respective defeats last time out which should make for an entertaining contest this weekend.

We say: FC Utrecht 2-0 RKC Waalwijk

Despite a bump in the road last time out, Utrecht are huge favorites to emerge victorious in this one as they boast the better squad of the two sides. We expect them to live up to expectations and secure all three points in a comfortable manner.
