Saturday's Championship predictions including Sunderland vs. Norwich

Portsmouth vs. Coventry (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Coventry City boss Frank Lampard will be looking for his side to claim consecutive victories when they travel to Fratton Park for Saturday's Championship clash with Coventry City.

The Sky Blues head into the weekend in 15th place in the standings, while Pompey are languishing in the Championship relegation zone.

We say: Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry City

Portsmouth will be reeling from their disappointing trip to Pride Park, but they can still have confidence from the fact that they are unbeaten in three matches at Fratton Park, and we think they will extend that run by holding Coventry to a draw in Saturday's contest.

Sheff Weds vs. Stoke (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Separated by seven points around the middle of the Championship table, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City will do battle at Hillsborough on Saturday.

The two sides drew in this fixture last term in the fight for survival, while the hosts currently sit ninth and their visitors have dropped to 17th spot this time around.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Stoke City

While Sheffield Wednesday have struggled at Hillsborough this season, Rohl's men, with renewed confidence from an improved run and victory last time out, should have enough to get past a Stoke City side lacking momentum.

Hull City vs. Swansea (Saturday, 12.30pm)

Hull City will be aiming to end a miserable 13-game winless streak when they host Swansea City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon for matchday 22 of the Championship season.

The hosts are bottom of the table with just 16 points from their opening 21 matches, while the visitors are 10th in the standings with 27 points from their first 21 games.

We say: Hull City 0-2 Swansea City

Swansea may have been defeated in disappointing circumstances last time out, but they are undoubtedly the favourites to bounce back with a win given Hull City's run of 13 winless game, leading us to expect the visitors to comfortably win.

Millwall vs. Blackburn (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Managerless Millwall will look to end a six-game winless run when they play host to Blackburn Rovers in Saturday's Championship encounter.

In contrast to their opponents, Blackburn are enjoying an impressive run of form after winning each of their last six matches.

We say: Millwall 0-2 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn will be full of confidence after claiming six successive victories and five straight clean sheets, and we think that they will continue their impressive run of form by brushing past a Millwall side that will be low on confidence following three consecutive defeats.

Plymouth vs. Middlesbrough (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Battling to retain their second-tier status, Plymouth Argyle will host promotion-chasing Middlesbrough at Home Park in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Green Army suffered an expected defeat at the home of Sheffield United last time out, whilst Boro picked up a narrow home win over Millwall on Teesside.

We say: Plymouth Argyle 1-4 Middlesbrough

Aiming to avoid a fifth straight defeat in the Championship, Plymouth are unlikely to experience any festive cheer as playoff hopefuls Middlesbrough come to town this weekend.

Boro have already smashed Oxford on the road this season, and it could be a similar narrative at the expense of another relegation candidate on Saturday afternoon.

QPR vs. Preston (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Queens Park Rangers will look to claim a third consecutive Championship when they welcome Preston North End to Loftus Road for Saturday's Championship contest.

The R's are sitting in 18th place in the Championship table, while the visitors are just one point ahead in 16th position.

We say: Queens Park Rangers 2-2 Preston North End

Preston have made a habit of drawing games this season, having seen 11 of their 21 league games finish all square, and we think they could add to that tally by holding QPR to a draw in Saturday's clash at Loftus Road.

Sunderland vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Looking to record back-to-back wins, Sunderland will welcome playoff-chasing Norwich City to the Stadium of Light for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Black Cats managed a last-minute success over Swansea City last time out, whilst the Canaries suffered defeat at home to promotion rivals Burnley.

We say: Sunderland 2-1 Norwich City

Notoriously poor on their second-tier travels, we are expecting Norwich to struggle at the home of a promotion contender on Saturday afternoon.

Sunderland will be buoyed following their dramatic win at Swansea last time out and should have enough quality to record back-to-back victories.

Burnley vs. Watford (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two in-form sides will face off when Burnley welcome Watford to Turf Moor for Saturday's Championship contest.

The hosts have avoided defeat in each of their last eight matches, while the visitors have put together a six-game unbeaten run.

We say: Burnley 1-1 Watford

While Burnley are yet to taste defeat at Turf Moor this season, they have had to settle for draws in five of their 10 home league games, and we think the promotion hopefuls may have to be content with a share of the spoils when they face a Watford side that are unbeaten in six games.

Cardiff vs. Sheff Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Aiming to further extend their lead at the top of the Championship table, Sheffield United will make the trip to take on Cardiff City on Saturday.

The visitors moved three points clear at the summit with a second straight win to stretch a long unbeaten run last weekend, while their hosts moved a point above the relegation zone with a draw on their travels last time out.

We say: Cardiff City 0-2 Sheffield United

Having excelled at both ends of the pitch so far this season, particularly in defence, we back Sheffield United to continue their fine run against a Cardiff City side lacking any momentum.

Leeds vs. Oxford Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Striving to extend their unbeaten run to four matches, Leeds United will welcome Oxford United to Elland Road for a Championship battle on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites were held to a share of the spoils by Preston North End last time out, whilst the U's suffered a season-altering 3-1 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

We say: Leeds United 3-0 Oxford United

Winning nine of their 11 Championship home matches this season, Leeds should be very confident of putting a relegation-threatened Oxford to the sword this weekend.

The U's are without a permanent manager following the dismissal of Buckingham, and it is likely that a sense of directionless will only lead to one result at Elland Road for the visitors.
