Saturday's Bundesliga predictions including SV Darmstadt 98 vs. Bayern Munich

Union Berlin vs. Werder Bremen (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Two teams seeking to avoid a third successive Bundesliga defeat meet at Stadion Alte Forsterei as Union Berlin play host to Werder Bremen on Saturday afternoon.

The Irons Ones will be seeking revenge against the River Islanders after they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture almost five months ago.

We say: Union Berlin 1-2 Werder Bremen

Union Berlin and Werder Bremen will both view Saturday's fixture as a winnable game, and while there is little to separate these two out-of-form teams, we believe Bremen have the edge in the final third and that should get them over the line this time around.

Wolfsburg vs. Augsburg (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Wolfsburg will look to end their lengthy winless run when they welcome Augsburg to the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday.

Hopeless form from the current bottom three is the only thing keeping Wolfsburg out of a relegation battle at present, while Augsburg have moved away from trouble and are now threatening the European places.

We say: Wolfsburg 1-1 Augsburg

In the midst of a 10-game winless run, and with just one clean sheet in 19 games - against Darmstadt - Wolfsburg do not exactly bring much confidence or momentum into this clash.

Augsburg have catapulted themselves up the table in recent weeks and will feel extremely confident of picking up another result here against ailing opponents.

Mainz vs. VfL Bochum (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Mainz 05 will seek to recover from a humiliating defeat to the champions last weekend when they welcome VfL Bochum to the Mewa Arena on Saturday.

The relegation favourites were thrashed 8-1 at the Allianz Arena by Bayern Munich last weekend, keeping them in huge danger of the drop this season.

We say: Mainz 05 2-2 VfL Bochum

Recent form suggests Bochum will not be able to move towards the top half in the closing stages of the season, but maintaining the current healthy gap to the bottom three will do, and they should at least end their barren run here.

Mainz may be resigned to a bottom three finish after last week's damaging defeat, but catching Koln in 16th could give them a reprieve in the playoff, and that will likely be the target now.

Heidenheim vs. Borussia M'bach (Saturday, 2.30pm)

One point and a place separate Heidenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach before both sides battle in gameweek 26 of the Bundesliga at Voith-Arena on Saturday.

The home side are going through their worst run since promotion to the top division, while Gladbach are keen to leapfrog their hosts by extending their ongoing unbeaten league run to four matches, even if they suffered a shock cup exit in mid-week.

We say: Heidenheim 2-1 Borussia Monchengladbach

Despite losing two in a row on their turf, Heidenheim should have enough to inflict a seventh Bundesliga away defeat on Gladbach, who cannot cobble sturdy road performances.

Darmstadt vs. Bayern (Saturday, 2.30pm)

Two teams at opposite ends of the Bundesliga table face off at Merck-Stadion am Bollenfalltor as basement club SV Darmstadt 98 play host to Bayern Munich on Saturday afternoon.

The Bavarians, who thumped the Lilies 8-0 in the reverse fixture in October, travel to Hesse this weekend on the back of hammering Mainz 05 by an 8-1 scoreline in their most recent fixture.

We say: SV Darmstadt 98 0-4 Bayern Munich

Neither side can afford to drop points if they wish to boost their hopes of achieving their respective targets this season, but it will come as no surprise to many that Bayern enter Saturday's contest as firm favourites to come out on top.

The Bundesliga's strongest attack, Bayern with 73 goals scored, should have few problems breaching the division's leakiest backline, Darmstadt with 60 goals conceded, en route to comfortably claiming all three points.

Hoffenheim vs. Stuttgart (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Champions League hopefuls Stuttgart travel to Rhein-Neckar Arena to take on Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Pellegrino Matarazzo will renew acquaintances with his former club Stuttgart, who suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Die Kraichgauer in the reverse fixture almost five months ago.

We say: Hoffenheim 2-2 Stuttgart

Seven of the last eight meetings between Hoffenheim and Stuttgart have seen both teams score and another entertaining end-to-end contest could be on the cards this weekend.

The momentum is certainly with Stuttgart at present, but Hoffenheim have already beaten Die Rotten this season and may do enough to claim at least a share of the spoils this time around.
