Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani has sent a message regarding the importance of taking precaution measures against the coronavirus.
The Italian was the first football player to be tested positive to the virus and has been since held in quarantine at the J Hotel, which is owned by Juventus.
"I want to reassure everyone that I am fine, I have never had serious symptoms and I consider myself lucky," Rugani said in a video published on Juventus' official media channels.
"At the beginning it was a hard blow because I was the first in footballer to be infected.
"I hope that my case makes everyone aware, especially those who have not understood the seriousness of this problem."
After Rugani, several Serie A players tested positive for the coronavirus including Fiorentina's German Pezzella, Patrick Cutrone and Dusan Vlahovic, as well as Sampdoria's Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonino La Gumina, Manolo Gabbiadini and Morten Thorsby.
In Italy, as many as 1,809 deaths have been recorded while 24,000 people have been infected by the virus.
