Ronaldo once again proved to be the hero for the Red Devils as he eased pressure on under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by heading home the winner in a 3-2 victory over Atalanta.
The Serie A side were on course to inflict a fifth defeat in eight matches when Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral capitalised on poor United defending, with some of the Old Trafford faithful booing their players at half-time.
But Solskjaer's side displayed their spirit and camaraderie by storming back and netting three in the second period, with Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire scoring before Ronaldo headed home a late winner.
Pogba's contract expires in the summer of 2022 and he is therefore allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club from January.
But the France international dropped a big hint over his future as he waxed lyrical about Ronaldo following his match-winning display.
When asked about his future Pogba, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano said: "I enjoy playing at Manchester United.
"Then Cristiano is special - he's one of the best in the world, I love playing with him."
Last month, The Athletic reported that Ronaldo's arrival has pleased Pogba and there was a 'genuine chance' the World Cup winner could extend his deal, which currently runs until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The 28-year-old has started the new season in sparkling form with seven assists in four Premier League games.
But they have dried up in recent matches due to United's drop in form, with just one point accumulated in their last three league outings.
