Guendouzi, who's at Marseille on a season-long loan, has struggled to settle in at Arsenal and has rubbed teammates and opponents up the wrong way throughout his career.
Van Aanholt, who plies his trade with Turkish outfit Galatasaray, was the latest player to be wound up by the midfielder when Marseille were awarded a penalty as he went down under a challenge from the Dutchman in the box late in the second half.
The decision was overturned after VAR got involved and the pair later had to be separated by teammates and backroom staff.
It seems there's still bad blood with Van Aanholt taking a swipe at Guendouzi on social media, tweeting a GIF of Marouane Fellaini pulling the Frenchman's hair in a 2018 Premier League match.
"Running your mouth after VAR proved you wrong… likkleman needs to relax before I snatch that wig off his head," the former Crystal Palace defender tweeted. "Well done to my lions for a well earned point on the roads."
The match, which finished goalless, was a bad-tempered affair with fellow Gunner William Saliba also squaring up to Galatasaray's Mbaye Diagne in the closing stages.
There was trouble in the crowd too. Play was suspended for a short time as flares and other missiles were thrown between both sets of fans.
Dimitri Payet, Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera and visiting manager Fatih Terim all tried to act as peacemakers from a distance.
This isn't the first incident involving fan trouble and Marseille this season with their Ligue 1 clash at Nice having to be abandoned after fans stormed the pitch.
Guendouzi displayed red marks on his neck after the chaotic scenes, although how he sustained them is disputed.
Nevertheless, the 22-year-old has largely impressed for Jorge Sampaoli's men, who are currently third in the French top flight.
Mikel Arteta has frozen Guendouzi out of the Arsenal team but the player has been called up to Didier Deschamps' France squad ahead of their Nations League semi-final against Belgium on Thursday.
