Sergio Ramos made history as he became the most capped European international player in history but it was a night to forget for the Spain star.
The 34-year-old made his 177th appearance for his country as he faced Switzerland in the Nations League and surpassed Gianluigi Buffon to break the record.
But the Real Madrid star missed two penalties to break a two-year streak of 25 consecutive spot kicks scored.
Ramos had two opportunities from the spot but Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer was more than equal to the task.
His second effort was a Panenka attempt, similar to Ademola Lookman's against West Ham last weekend, and was easily saved.
Ramos' blushes were spared, though, as Gerard Moreno scored a late equaliser to make it 1-1 in their Nations League group match.
Sergio Ramos won't want to see that again!
