A handful of youngsters are looking to make a mark on Real Madrid's pre-season tour

On Tuesday, in addition to 24 first-team players, four Castilla players were chosen by Carlo Ancelotti to board the plane for Real Madrid's pre-season tour of the United States.

The four youngsters that were chosen were goalkeepers Luis Lopez and Lucas Canizares, right-back Vinicius Tobias, and striker Juanmi Latasa.

The four, along with new signings Antonio Rudiger and Aurelian Touchmeni, will join the Champions League winners on their pre-season tour.

Here is everything you need to know about the four youngsters on Real Madrid's pre-season tour.

LUIS LOPEZ (2001)

Luis Lopez stands out due to his height and his physique. At 21 years of age, he is the veteran in goal for Raul's Castilla, and in 2020 won the Youth League with the Juvenil A team.

Last season Lopez made 14 appearances for reserve team and conceded a total of 15 goals.

Lopez is also an international with Spain's youth teams up to Under-19 level and has developed a close relationship with Los Blancos' first-choice 'keeper Thibaut Courtois.

LUCAS CANIZARES (2002)

Lucas Canizares (1.88m), son of former Spain international Santi Canizares, was recruited in 2014 for the Infantil B side. Canizares was also hailed as the most promising goalkeeper at La Fabrica.

A serious knee injury in the summer of 2021 hampered his progress, not making a squad until March 2022 and not featuring between the posts until the final matchday.

Despite those setbacks, his presence in California attests to of how much confidence there is in his potential. This season he will fight with Luis Lopez and Mario de Luis for a starting place in Castilla.

VINICIUS TOBIAS (2004)

Tobias was signed on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this year. The right-back was allowed to leave the Ukrainian club on loan following Russia's invasion of the country and will stay in Madrid until 2023. Then, Real Madrid have an option of making the move permanent for 18 million euros.

Tobias is described as being very Brazilian and loves to get forward from full-back.

Tobias is also described as a sponge by those who have watched him train, alluding to the fact that he is always looking for advice on how to improve his game.

JUANMI LATASA (2001)

Trained at Union Adarve, Latasa hit his stride in 2020, scoring 13 goals and providing one assist in 30 games en route to winning the Youth League.

Ancelotti has previously called him up for matchdays 23 and 33, and finally on matchday 37. Latasa made his Real Madrid debut in the 81st minute against Cadiz in their 1-1 draw.

For the 2022/23 season, Latasa will alternate between Castilla and the first team.
