Ralf Rangnick vowed to celebrate with a glass of red wine after making a winning start as Manchester United boss.
The German was all smiles as a superb 77th-minute strike from midfielder Fred secured victory at Old Trafford.
Rangnick said he did not enjoy a glass of wine with Sir Alex Ferguson, on his last visit to United 10 years ago, after his Schalke side were beaten 4-1 in the Champions League semi-finals.
But the 63-year-old said that he would enjoy a post-match tipple when asked how he planned to celebrate the win, which gave United back-to-back wins in the league for only the second time this season.

"I don't know," said Rangnick. "I've had so many interviews in the last half-an-hour, maybe a good dinner and a glass of red wine.
"We train tomorrow at 9am, so there's not much time to celebrate."
Rangnick said he was surprised how quickly United's players took on board his instructions, given he only had one full training session with them.
United pressed in a manner that Old Trafford fans haven't been treated to in months. There seemed a real hunger to win the ball back that wasn't there previously. Right from the off the home side won two corners within the first five minutes.
"I was positively surprised by the physical state and intensity," said Rangnick.
"I was a bit surprised, because not only did we play Thursday, a late kick-off, we had two days less to recover compared to Crystal Palace.
"We also had not even a full training session yesterday because it was pouring. It was not just Manchester weather, it was disgusting.
"It was heavy, raining, windy, so it was almost impossible to train in a concentrated and focused manner.
"But they still did it in those 45 minutes on the training pitch and we explained how we want to play.
"The rest was video footage, a lot of personal conversations with players and in groups, explaining to them how we want to play.
"But I didn't expect them to play at that level after such a short time together."
Palace boss Patrick Vieira said: "I thought the game would finish with a draw. Neither side created too many chances.
"When we had that chance with Jordan Ayew, we didn't take it. In these games, you have to score those."
The result leaves United now in sixth place in the Premier League standings.
They are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Swiss side Young Boys in the final group stage game in the Champions League.
They then return to Premier League action on Saturday night when they go to struggling Norwich City.
