Stabaek will be hoping that a new month can bring an upturn in fortunes after losing three and drawing one of their four matches in June.

Their poor run of form began with 3-1 defeats to both Kjelsas and Lillestrom in the Norwegian Cup and league respectively.

They let a two-goal advantage slip to draw 2-2 with Rosenborg, before they gave away a narrow lead to lose 2-1 away to Tromso in their previous fixture.

Ninth-placed Stabaek will now return to home surroundings, where they have picked up 12 of their 15 points this season.

In fact, they are one of only three teams - alongside Brann and Bodo/Glimt - who are yet to win a home league game in the 2023 campaign.

Stromsgodset will have to pick themselves for Monday's contest after being knocked out of the Norwegian Cup by Molde in midweek.

A disappointing 3-0 defeat resulted in a fourth-round elimination, leaving Jorgen Isnes's side to focus on their league campaign.

After picking up just four points in their opening six matches of the Eliteserien, Stromsgodset have collected 10 points from five games to climb up the league table.

Having won their last two league games, Stromsgodset will be aiming to record three consecutive top-flight victories for the first time since November 2017.

Although the visitors have won just one of their six away matches in the Eliteserien this season, that win did arrive in their most recent away outing against Valerenga.

Stabaek have doubts surrounding the availability of Kevin Kabran and Kasper Pedersen, who are both struggling with injury issues.

Kasper Hogh will miss out through suspension after being shown a straight red card in the closing stages of the 2-1 defeat to Tromso.

After dropping to the bench for the previous fixture, Sturla Ottesen could be recalled to the starting lineup for Monday's encounter.

As for the visitors, they expected to line up with a back three made up of Ari Leifsson, Gustav Valsvik and Fredrik Kristensen Dahl.

Thomas Grogaard was introduced at half time in Wednesday's cup defeat to Molde, and the 29-year-old could be presented with a starting opportunity on Monday.

Jonatan Brunes will be looking to add to his three-goal league tally for the season when he leads the line against Stabaek.
