While the hosts currently occupy 14th place, the visitors are sat in fourth position after losing only one of their 11 League One games this season.
Match preview
Charlton will head into Monday's contest in a positive mood after ending an eight-game winless league run last weekend thanks to a 4-2 victory over Exeter.
A Miles Leaburn effort and an Alex Hartridge own goal have the Addicks a two-goal lead before Jay Stansfield halved the deficit for Exeter in the 34th minute.
Late goals from Chuks Aneke and Jack Payne helped Charlton wrap up the three points despite Sam Nombe scoring from the spot to ensure the contest finished 4-2.
Charlton's first victory since August leaves them in midtable, with four points separating them from the relegation zone, while they are five points adrift of the playoffs.
As well as attempting to claim consecutive victories, the Addicks will also be looking to maintain their unbeaten home record.
Portsmouth may have lost only one league game this term, but they are currently winless in their previous three games in League One
After drawing 2-2 with Plymouth Argyle, Danny Cowley's side were beaten for the first time this season when they faced Ipswich Town.
They had the chance to bounce back from the 3-2 defeat last weekend when they played host to Fleetwood Town, but Josh Koroma's early opener was cancelled out by Carlos Mendes Gomes, ensuring Pompey had to settle for a point.
Although Portsmouth have failed to win their last three matches, they remain in the playoff places and are eight points adrift of automatic promotion with three games in hand.
As they turn their attention to Monday's contest, the visitors can take confidence from the fact they have won three of their last four away games in League One.

Team News
Leaburn is a doubt for Charlton after the forward was forced off in the second half in the victory over Exeter.
If the 18-year-old is unable to feature on Monday then Aneke could come into the side to partner Jayden Stockley in the forward line.
Despite coming off the bench to score last weekend, Payne may have to settle for a place amongst the substitutes with Ben Garner expected to keep changes to a minimum.
As for the visitors, they are still expected to be without Jayden Reid, Joe Rafferty and Louis Thompson due to injury issues.
After coming off the bench in the second half against Fleetwood, Reeco Hackett is in contention for a starting place.
Dane Scarlett will continue in the forward line alongside Colby Bishop, who will be aiming to add to the seven goals he has scored this season.
