How much does Amazon Prime cost?

If you are not already an Amazon Prime customer, then you can sign-up for membership by creating an account here, while there is also the option of a 30-day free trial.

In July, Amazon controversially announced that they were raising their prices by 12.5% from mid-September for existing and new subscribers.

In an email sent to subscribers overnight, Amazon said: 'As of 15 September 2022, the price of the monthly Prime membership will increase from £7.99 to £8.99, and the price of the annual Prime membership will increase from £79 to £95.'

Will Amazon be showing any other games?

Amazon has exclusive rights to two rounds of Premier League fixtures, with the Matchday 17 fixtures on Boxing Day also being broadcast by the streaming service. These are listed below:

Arsenal vs West Ham, Dec 26 (3pm)

Aston Villa vs Liverpool, Dec 26 (3pm)

Brentford vs Tottenham, Dec 26 (3pm)

Chelsea vs Bournemouth, Dec 26 (3pm)

Crystal Palace vs Fulham, Dec 26 (3pm)

Everton vs Wolves, Dec 26 (3pm)

Leeds vs Man City, Dec 26 (3pm)

Leicester vs Newcastle, Dec 26 (3pm)

Man Utd vs Nottingham Forest, Dec 26 (3pm)

Southampton vs Brighton, Dec 26 (3pm)

*all fixtures subject to change

Future plans

The rights for just two rounds of Premier League fixtures are said to cost Amazon about £30m per season, although they have big plans to compete with Sky and BT in the near future.

Sky Sports already have the rights to broadcast the bulk of Premier League games that are selected for live coverage, along with exclusive rights for the Carabao Cup and the EFL, while BT Sport also have the rights to broadcast top flight fixtures weekly, as well as every Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League fixture.

However, it was also announced in July that Amazon had secured rights to 20 Champions League games a season from 2024/25.
