Shakira has been left "devastated" after footage appears to show Gerard Pique's new partner in their family home before the couple split.
The Barcelona star and the South American pop star were among the most high profile celebrity couples in football. They had two children together but it was announced that their 11-year relationship had ended last June.
Pique, who has since called time on his career, has since made it known publicly that he is with his new girlfriend and co-worker, Clara Chia Marti. However a Twitch interview, recorded back in 2021 when he and Shakira were "happily together", shows Marti in the background.
It is reported that Shakira was absent at the time as she was travelling with the two children. A source told Page Six that Shakira is "devastated to learn that this woman clearly felt at home in the house they shared with their children".
They added: "They were very much still together at that time. It's devastating for her to learn that this affair had been going on for a lot longer than she imagined."
Reports in Spain have claimed that the World Cup winner allegedly cheated on Shakira with his current partner. The couple appeared in court last month as they sought to iron out issues around custody and their £12m property. After a 12-hour meeting a settlement was reached.
The 45-year-old singer has said on her relationship with the father of her children: "Regardless of how things ended or how Gerard and I feel about each other as ex-partners, he is the father of my children. We have a job to do for these two incredible boys, and I have faith that we will figure out what is best for their future, their own dreams in life, and what is a fair solution for everyone involved."
Shakira has appeared to take a swipe at her ex-partner in a New Year Instagram post however. She wrote: "Although our wounds continue to be open in this new year, time has surgeon's hands. Even if someone has betrayed us, we have to keep trusting. In the face of contempt, keep valuing yourself because there are more good people than bad people.
"More empathetic people than indolent people. There are fewer who leave and more who stay by our side. Our tears are not a waste, they water the soil where the future will be born and make us more human, so in the midst of heartbreak we can continue to love. Doubt."
