The French centre-back lunged in to challenge Pirates striker Irvin Cardona in that 1-0 triumph, and the tackle initially warranted a red card before being overturned by VAR.
Parisiens manager Christophe Galtier confirmed after the game that Kimpembe had suffered a muscular problem and would need further examinations to determine the severity of the problem.
Ahead of Wednesday's Champions League Group H clash with Maccabi Haifa, PSG have now revealed that Kimpembe could be sidelined until the end of October.
"Victim of a left hamstring injury, Presnel Kimpembe will be unavailable for about 6 weeks. A new point will be made in 8 days," a medical update on PSG's official website read.
The 27-year-old has been a regular of Galtier's three-man backline alongside Sergio Ramos and Marquinhos this term, and either Danilo Pereira or Nordi Mukiele could now deputise.
PSG have also confirmed that Renato Sanches (adductor) and Keylor Navas (back) will also be absent from the clash with Maccabi Haifa as the French champions aim to keep the momentum going from last week's opening 2-1 win over Juventus.
