Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly told Neymar that they no longer have need of his services in an extraordinary U-turn in recent years after begging him to stay.
There are big changes at the Parc des Princes with Mauricio Pochettino set to get the axe despite winning Ligue 1 in his first full season in charge at the club. A poor showing in the Champions League was enough to convince president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to cue ties.
OGC Nice boss Christophe Galtier has been cherrypicked to replace the former Tottenham manager after winning the title with Lille the year before the last season. He will reunite with Luis Campos, who also worked at the northern French team, in a major shuffle.
A new deal has been struck with Kylian Mbappe worth £650,000-a-week, beating Real Madrid away from signing the Frenchman on a free transfer. The 23-year-old is understood to have also been given control in the boardroom over transfers and coaches.
According to RMC Sport, Neymar has been told he is no longer wanted at the club as they look to continue their rebuild without him. It has opened up the possibility of an extravagant transfer to Chelsea, who have been linked with the Brazilian.
The former Barcelona star arrived from the Nou Camp for a groundbreaking £200million back in 2017 and was supposed to push PSG towards becoming a force in the Champions League force. That has failed to happen, though, with the Parisians reaching just one final in the last five years - in 2020 when they lost to Bayern Munich.
The report goes on to state that Neymar was left angered by Al-Khelaifi's comments made earlier in the summer when he spoke out on the shortcomings at PSG. "A possible departure of Neymar this summer? What I can tell you is that we expect all players to do a lot more than last season. A lot more!" Al Khelaifi told Le Parisien.
"They all have to to be 100 per cent. Obviously, we weren't good enough to go far. For next season, the objective is clear: to work every day at 200 per cent. To give everything we have for this jersey, give the maximum and we will see the result.
"You have to become humble again. You have to change to avoid injuries, suspensions and fouls that change a game."
RMC Sport also went on to report that Neymar is considering a move to Chelsea after it was revealed that the Blues were potentially exploring a transfer this summer. New owner Tod Boehly is keen to make an impression at Stamford Bridge with a marquee arrival.
Thomas Tuchel knows the player well from his time in charge at PSG and would happily accept the Brazil international. The German wants to bolster his attacking options with Romelu Lukaku set to leave.
