Paris Saint-Germain could shock the football world with a move for Roma coach Jose Mourinho as the Ligue 1 champions eye a replacement for Mauricio Pochettino, who has been rumoured to have lost the faith of the PSG directors.
Even though Pochettino led PSG to yet another Ligue 1 title, their failure in the Champions League, where they succumbed to Real Madrid's magic in a 20-minute collapse in the second leg of the Round of 16, has put a big question mark over the Argentinian's future at the Parc des Princes.
The report comes from The Telegraph, who state that PSG will look to get Mourinho onboard. He joins Ruben Amorim, Sporting CP coach, in the list of coaching candidates being shortlisted. New sporting director Luis Campos has himself asked for Mourinho.
Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was the preferred candidate to be at the helm from the 2022-23 season, but it has been reported that he has rejected PSG's offer. While it seems like they also had Christophe Galtier and Marcelo Gallardo on their radar, nothing has been decided yet. No one knows who will be managing the team from the sidelines next season, not even PSG themselves.
