The goalkeeper started Cameroon's World Cup opener against Switzerland but doesn't feature at all in their matchday squad following a dispute with manager Rigobert Song.

The fallout is with regards to Onana's ball-playing style with Song keen to have a more traditional goalkeeper between sticks, something that the stopper disagreed with.
Reports from Helena Condis Edo also added that Cameroon Football Federation president and legendary striker Samuel Eto'o also tried to mediate peace talks.

As a result, the Inter Milan goalkeeper was dropped for Devis Epassy, a stopper with just five caps to his name.
It's been a tough year for the 26-year-old after he was banned for a year in 2021 for a doping violation.
Onana served nine months of that sentence but has always protested his innocence, claiming that he accidentally taken one of his wife's pills while feeling unwell.
Since then he's put in a number top performances for Italian giants Inter Milan, however this setback is just the latest in what has been a hugely frustrating 2022 for the goalkeeper.

Onana was also involved in a car accident while away on international duty with Cameroon earlier this year, but escaped from the scene unhurt.
Onana was certainly missed as Cameroon conceded three goals in their draw with Serbia, meaning that they'll need to win their final group stage fixture with Brazil to stand any chance of progressing.
