The Uruguayan forward was given his marching orders after headbutting defender Joachim Andersen in Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday night at Anfield.
His offence means the 23-year-old will miss upcoming games against Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
The Palace centre-back expertly showcased the dark arts of defending, as he rattled the striker all match to the point that he earned himself a red card.
He is not the first and won't be he last centre-back to use these tactics that are well within the laws of the game.
Agbonlahor came up against some of the best the Premier League has ever seen and revealed the nasty lengths Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic would go to.
"He was having a poor game for me," Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
"Everything was bouncing off him, he missed a few chances, so he is frustrated at his performance.
"When you have a defender purposely winding you up, I have been there with Steven Taylor when playing with the under-21s.
"He was playing for Newcastle, he pinches you so hard in the back and other things I can't really say.
"Nemanja Vidic would stamp on your Achilles, when you're standing there and doing nothing. You would get away with it back then though.
"Andersen was very clever, Nunez will learn from it. His teammates will get round him, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Virgil van Dijk - the senior pros.
"They will say get him back by scoring a goal and celebrate in front of him if you need to."
Agbonlahor's comment come after ex-Reds midfielder Didi Hamann played down Nunez's red card insisting the Reds striker 'just walked into him'.
"I think he just walked into him," he said ontalkSPORT Breakfastthe morning after the game.
"It wasn't even a headbutt, he just walked into the defender Andersen.
"If it was a proper headbutt I can understand it, to extend the ban, but he just walked into him, three games is enough."
Hamann did concede the Liverpool man probably should've kept his cool and avoided getting sent off.
"Yes you shouldn't do it, we all agree he shouldn't do it," the German added.
