Dorking Wanderers' clash with Epsom & Ewell descended into chaos when an away player attacked the official and his opponents in response to being shown a red card.
The match was subsequently suspended and Dorking were awarded a 3-0 victory.
Videos of the incident circulated on social media shortly after, which showed the player's furious reaction to being dismissed.
The player can be seen squaring up and pushing the referee before swinging punches at the opposition as they attempted to alleviate the situation.
Fans can be heard saying he was only on the pitch 'for a few minutes'.
Epsom confirmed the player's contract was terminated with immediate effect as a result of his actions after the clash.
The statement from the club read: "Epsom and Ewell Football Club would like to put on record our apologies to today's officials and players of Dorking.
"We will not tolerate this behaviour at our club and are mortified by the scenes in today's match.
"The player in question has been released by the club with immediate effect.
"We would like to thank Dorking for their hospitality today and again apologise for today's match. This sort of action holds no place in football or society."
