The 29-year-old is yet to achieve huge success with his country, most recently losing the Copa America final to arch South American rivals Argentina at home at the Maracana, Rio de Janeiro.
And PSG's No.10 has now admitted that next year may be his last chance to take home major honours on an international level, having only picked up a Confederations Cup in 2013.
The Brazilian poster boy also has appeared to spark retirement rumours, as he openly pondered his future in the sport.
"I think it's my last World Cup," Neymar told DAZN.
"I see it as my last because I don't know if I have the strength of mind to deal with football any more.
"So I'll do everything to turn up well, do everything to win with my country, to realise my greatest dream since I was little. And I hope I can do it."
Neymar is the country's second top scorer, recently overtaking Ronaldo with 69 goals, whilst he closes in on Pele's record of 77.
However, the former Barcelona star hasn't marked his international career with big silverware.
His most famous moment for the country was arguably a game that he wasn't even a part of, when Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany at the 2014 World Cup after he picked up an injury.
Neymar was a surprise omission from Dunga's 2010 World Cup squad in South Africa, but has led the line for the following two tournaments.
They both ended in disappointment, though, suffering humiliation as they, as hosts, were smashed by Germany in 2014, before then losing 2-1 to Belgium in the quarter-finals of the 2018 edition in Russia.
The world's most expensive player would be 34 by the 2026 World Cup, which is being joist-hosted by United States, Canada and Mexico, but he didn't comment on his participation at the 2024 Copa America.
Neymar has had a tough year, with a meek Champions League semi-final exit to Manchester City in May, before giving up the Ligue 1 title to Lille the following month.
PSG and Neymar have had an upturn in fortunes this season though, seeing good friend and former Barcelona strike partner Lionel Messi join the team, as well as Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes.
Neymar - who cost the Parisians £220million back in 2017 - has a goal and two assists in seven games so far this season, helping PSG to a six point lead at the top of Ligue 1.
