The Brazilian was in the heart of the action after just eight minutes when he went flying into a challenge with Leicester midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

As well as missing the ball entirely, the Newcastle star's high boot caught the Foxes' midfielder on the knee, leaving him writhing on the floor in pain.
Despite appeals from the Leicester players and bench, the referee took the decision to award just a yellow card for what was deemed to be a reckless challenge.

With Leicester in desperate need of points, a red card for Guimaraes could have drastically changed the course of the must-win game for Leicester.
That certainly wasn't lost on the Leicester fans who were adamant that Newcastle should have been made to play the remaining 82 minutes of the game with just ten men.
One supporter said: "How is that not a red… awful challenge."
Another said: "It's the most blatant red card," while another added: "It's as clear as you will ever see."

Several other fans referenced Casemiro's treatment from referees, saying: "Casemiro got red for less.
Another added: "If that's Casemiro he's getting suspended for a month and I'm not even exaggerating."
Meanwhile a Newcastle fan even admitted that he should have been sent off, saying: "As an NUFC fan, yes. Very very poor challenge. Don't know how he's not off."

Many clearly feel the 25-year-old was fortunate but Guimaraes certainly had no luck on 71 minutes as he wasted a golden chance to give the home side the lead.
Leicester defender Wout Faes' flick-on unintentionally found an unmarked Guimaraes, but despite practically being on the goal-line he could only manage to hit the post with his header.
